Playa Coronado, Coronado Bay Condominium, on the Beach!

Just spent 3 months here. The condo building is great & everything is well maintained. Our condo was great & better than we expected. It had everything we needed to be comfortable. Our condo & the building itself was very clean. They even wash the parking garage floors on a regular basis. The beach was very nice. We were so surprised when we walked it the first time to realize there are no hotels or shops along the way, only private homes. The only thing was there were no chairs available on the beach. We loved having a gym in the building & the rooftop pool was our favorite. We started a 6PM Happy Hour each evening & you'd have a great opportunity to meet new people. Our property manager, Martha & her assistant, Jill were great to deal with. They responded to all our ?'s & needs in a timely manner. The biggest problem for us was not having a car. The taxis are not too good or fast coming here. We had to walk a couple blocks & catch them or the little bus to get to the shopping area in Coronado, which is about 2 miles if you want to walk it. There are plenty of stores & restaurants once you get there. You can also take the public bus from there to Panama City for $2.50 - $3.00, which is a lot less than a $100 taxi ride. Within walking distance are 3 restaurants. Lunarosa was our favorite. It's an Italian restaurant with a fairly large menu. Their pizza is great. Picasso's is an outdoor restaurant & they have Happy Hour there every Wed evening. Lunarosa & Picassos are closed every Monday & Tuesday. Gourmet Pizza is across from Picassos. In addition to pizza they have other menu items. There is a small grocery store about a block away. Their prices are about the same as the grocery store for the items they do carry, but they dont' really have refrigerated items. There is a new hotel on the corner that should open soon. Maybe it will draw more taxis to the area. We found everyone to be friendly, but don't expect them to understand English, we were surprised at how few workers here speak anything but Spanish. If you're looking for warm weather & comfortable accomadations, this is a great place to stay.
