The dining area, with a large table and seating for four, leads to a fully equipped sunny kitchen There is an outside deck with comfortable seating and views south to the old barn and maple trees. The spacious fully tiled bathroom has a bath/shower combination with washer/drier. The bedroom has a large closet and sleeps 3 comfortably with a twin and a queen bed. Culturally diverse Northampton in the 5 college area, rich in history and home to the esteemed Smith College has a large collection of restaurants, cafes, art studios, book stores, live music venues and eclectic shopping. It has a certain 'buzz' described as the 'Paradise of America'. Although it is a thriving, bustling town it also has a relaxed feel with many tranquil and recreational activities in the immediate area.
In less than an hour you can drive west to The Clark, Norman Rockwell's fascinating museum, Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, or enjoy world class dance at Jacob's Pillow. Travel north to Historic Deerfield and drive the scenic Mohawk Trail. In winter months you can enjoy the snow and beautiful mountains and ski for the day. In the hot summer drive back through Shelburne Falls, walk the Bridge of Flowers then swim, kayak or tube down the Deerfield river. Travel 15 minutes east to picturesque Amherst, visit the Emily Dickinson or Eric Carle museums then stop on the way back at Atkins Farm for delicious food and locally grown produce. Visit in the Fall and soak up the gorgeous colors of autumn from the maple trees, orange pumpkins and numerous Fall Festivals.
