HELLO AND WELCOME TO MY HOME IN SAN FRANCISCO! My huge 2,000 sqft (190 sq meters) top floor flat is located right in the center of San Francisco, in a very hip / trendy area called NOPA. Because of its wide layout, the apt is ideal for a large family or several friends traveling together.
At Golden Gate Ave and Baker St, the flat is located just 4 blocks from one of the city's most famous postcard views -- the Painted Ladies -- and one of the best parks in the city, Alamo Square. It's also a short 5-block walk to another famous park -- Golden Gate Park. In fact, the apt allows easy access to the entire city, and my guests consistently comment how easy it is to get around SF using my place as a home base.
My seven-room flat is alone on the top floor of a 3 unit building and is very quiet. There are high ceilings and beautiful white oak hardwood floors throughout. All rooms have fine rugs in excellent condition.
The 400 sqft master bedroom is massive, has plenty of walk-in closet space (6' x 8') and a separate sitting area. The room faces south and gets tons of natural light. The room has beautiful views of the Upper Haight, Ashbury Terrace, Buena Vista Park, Twin Peaks and Sutro Tower.
Adjacent to the master is the first full bath complete with bathtub.
On the other end of the apartment is the second bedroom (200 sq ft), which also has a large walk-in closet (4' x 6'). Across the hall from this bedroom is the second full bathroom, which also has a bathtub.
Past the second bedroom lies the combined living room / dining room, which is also quite large (400 sqft) and has six beautiful bay windows facing north providing ample natural light. There is a hi-fidelity stereo in this room with CD player, iPod/MP3 player input, a sony flat screen TV with cable and DVD player.
Note that the bedrooms and full baths are located at opposite ends of the apartment, providing an ideal layout for two couples or friends looking for privacy.
The kitchen has a gas stove, large refrigerator and dishwasher. There are chef quality stainless steel pots, pans and cutlery provided if you prefer to stay in and entertain. Inside the kitchen is a cozy little breakfast nook (see pic) perfect for 3 or 4.
Just off the kitchen is the utility room with a brand-new HE washing machine and gas dryer.
Directly behind the building is a private patio/garden (shared with 2 building neighbors) with 2 BBQ grills and wrought iron patio furniture.
The flat is on a quiet residential street just a couple blocks from shops, restaurants, cafés and cool bars. Neighbors are friendly and there's a good mix of young families with kids and singles living side-by-side.
At Golden Gate and Baker, the flat is literally in the center of San Francisco and easy walking distance to some of the best parts of the city, including Golden Gate Park, Haight Ashbury, Alamo Square and the famous Painted Ladies, Buena Vista Park, Hayes Valley, Dolores Park, Pacific Heights, UCSF Medical Center, the Koret Fitness Center, USF campus, The Presidio, and the Mission.
Great public transportation options are here as well, with several bus routes within 5 blocks or less, including the 5, 21, 22, 24, 31, 38 and 43 MUNI lines (yes, 7 different bus lines!). These can take you virtually to any part of the city.

My name is Rob and I am a explorer at heart. I split my time between S. America and the US, and if I'm not in San Francisco, I'm usually in Brazil. I'm originally from New York, have lived all over the US, and have lived in San Francisco since 1999.
I love SF for its access to the great outdoors -- hiking, biking, snow boarding, skiing, surfing, etc. -- and of course its amazing music scene! I am always available and happy to help out my renters with suggestions on where to go and what to do, and I provide all my guests with a Guestbook personalized for my neighborhood with suggested activities, restaurants, bars, cafes and places of interest.
Rob purchased this condo in 2007
Why Rob chose NoPa
I love the NOPA/Alamo Square neighborhood because of its central location and its easy-going vibe. It has a great mix of young families, hipsters and professionals, and it's quite safe. I also love seeing new retail (BiRite!), restaurants and bars open up all the time here. The area is in the midst of a great renaissance!
What makes this condo unique
I want all my guests to have an amazing experience in San Francisco. So in addition to the great peace and comfort you will enjoy in my flat, I am here to help make your trip memorable with suggested itineraries and locals-only tips for making the most of your vacation -- especially should you share my passion for music! Also, since I travel a lot, I have a pair of property managers who live next door should you ever need anything during your stay.
Guestbook comments from the owner
"We are a mature Australian couple who stayed here for 6 weeks in April/May 2011 and found the apt. to very comfortable and in a great location, as we are big walkers. We loved the spaciousness of the apt. - it felt like a small house. It was very nicely decorated with good quality furnishings. Lots of natural light and lovely hardwood floors. Rob, the owner, is very accommodating and welcoming. Would definately stay here again."
