Photos and Description of the Imperia/Porto Maurizio vacation chateau / country house rental

Ananda is a modern earthquake proof home, built in 2001 in traditional style. There is a large living room with an iron Scandinavian fire place and a very well equipped kitchen (we enjoy cooking). You will find a covered terrace facing south, twined around with bougainvillea and a view on the sea and Porto Maurizio. From the balcony on the west side you are overlooking the Sea Alps (Monte Faudo 1150 m). The two bedrooms are downstairs with covered terraces in front and therefore relatively cool. There is central gas heating in the house. It is situated on about 1600 m² of terraced land with old olive trees and a Mediterranean garden (palms, lemons, cypress trees, a mimosa and many others). The house is at about 250 m altitude but protected and the climate is mild. The property has a locked iron gate with parking for several cars inside which can not be observed from the road (for safety sake).

The property is at the northern edge of Porto Maurizio in a spacious neighbourhood with country houses of which many are occupied permanently. One can see most of the neighbouring houses, but just like the coastal highway you can't hear them. There are many small beaches in Porto Maurizio, some also with fine sand, but then liable to entrance fees during the season. About 6 km away is a free public beach with pebbles and sand (done up every season) with shower, free parking and many bars and restaurants nearby. Imperia is a real lively city also out of season. San Remo (about 25 km) and Monte Carlo / Monaco (about 50 km) are in easy reach. The unspoilt hinterland is good for hiking and feasting (about € 25 all inclusive). Alpine ski lifts are reachable by car (about 60 km) and by direct train. The approach to the property is easy (150 m from the provincial road), good shopping is on the way to town.

Notes: The ground floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom with tub and shower, a door to the terrace and a separate toilet. There is a second bathroom with shower and toilet upstairs (living room/ kitchen and floor) and a locked private room as well. The kitchen is equipped with a strong extractor hood, coffee maker, espresso machine and toaster. Linen and towels are changed weekly; there is a hair dryer and a cloth-horse. Each room has wire mesh at the door or window, each bed has an additional mosquito net. Some of the higher unsecured terrace walls may be dangerous for small children.

Traumhaus in fantastischer Umgebung

Wir (4 Personen-Familie) verbrachten diesen Sommer zwei wundervolle Wochen in diesem Ferienhaus. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an einfach nur wohl; nach dem Motto: Sonnenmilch und Badehandtücher raus und schon beginnt der Urlaub. Das Haus ist sehr komfortabel und liebevoll eingerichtet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Ebenso der traumhaft schöne mediterrane Garten mit dem großen Pool sowie die toll gestalteten Gartenteiche. Durch die Bepflanzung des Gartens ist für ausreichend Schatten gesorgt; ansonsten benutzt man eben einen der großen Sonnenschirme. Meine Tochter und mich hat es allerdings mehr auf die Sonnenplätze gezogen. Da oben in den Bergen immer ein angenehmer Wind geht, kann man es in der Sonne selbst im Hochsommer sehr gut aushalten. Gegen die Mücken, die in einer anderen Bewertung angesprochen wurden, hilft ganz einfach sich mit Autan einreiben und abends auf der Terrasse Zitroteelichter aufstellen.
Diese Ferien werden uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben und wir werden bestimmt nochmal wiederkommen. Das Haus hat den Standard eines 5 Sterne- Hotels mit Selbstverpflegung. Da die Küche ebenfalls wie zu Hause ausgestattet ist, macht es einem nichts aus, auch im Urlaub mal ab und zu zu kochen.

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub

Anfang August 2008 durften wir unseren Urlaub im Ferienhaus Ananda genießen.

Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet (sogar die Grundnahrungsmittel wie Zucker und Salz sind vorhanden) und auch super gepflegt. Die Gartenanlage mit dem Pool ist einfach traumhaft und sehr romantisch.

Das einzige Manko waren die sehr aggressiven und hinterhältigen Stechmücken. Leider hört man sie kaum und wundert sich dann, woher die vielen Einstiche kommen. Deshalb gleich am ersten Tag gut mit einem Insektenschutz einsprühen! ;-)

Auch die Lage von Ananda ist wunderschön und insgesamt können wir das Haus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.
