Welcome to the Charpia Cottage, a cozy, 2 bedroom cottage built in 1914. We are located in the historic district, 1 block from the town center. The cottage has been completely renovated and restored with all of the comforts of home and a gorgeous gulf view from the screened front porch. We are located in historic Cedar Key...a charming island community. There are many shops, galleries, and museums to explore during your stay, along with boat rides and island tours. You can also enjoy a variety of restaurants and eateries that feature local seafood and entertainment. We now have wireless internet!! Bring your laptop and work or email from our gulf-view front porch!
Our cottage is all on one level for easy access, with a back deck complete with a charcoal grill and 300 year-old oak tree! We are within walking distance to Cedar Key's waterfront shops and restaurants, as well as the historic main drag.

We purchased this wonderful cottage several years ago as a quiet escape for our family and friends, some of which also have places in Cedar Key. It is a place where we felt comfortable letting the kids go ride their bikes, wander, and just be kids. . . like we used to. Not many places left like this!!
While we enjoy going to close-by islands and coves by boat from Cedar Key (like McCrary Cove on Seahorse Key in the pic above) and Atsena Otie Island just across the main channel or waterway), we also fish quite a bit now as well. Trout and Spanish Mack are the kids favorite things to catch, and we just realized we can scallop in the shallows in Cedar Key, too (in season, of course)!
Our property has more character/personality than any other rental you will find, bar none. We have rented other places in Cedar Key (when we have had work being done to our cottage or had family in) and I can honestly say that our place is special. It doesn't FEEL like a rental, which to me, is important. I hope you will try us out!
The cottage is one level, which is nice as no hiking up stairs with luggage or groceries! Also one of the most centrally-located places you will find with a waterview. The people watching from our place is great from the front porch--you can watch the boats coming in and going out on the water, as well as everyone who walks or rides their bike down to what we call 'sunset point' just two blocks further down on First Street. Nothing better than pouring a glass of wine or beer and walking to the point with family or friends to watch the sun go down.
