About JOHN BURNS

I am a Real Estate agent in Los Angeles/Beverly Hills for Sotheby's International Realty. From my early school years I can remember riding my bicycle to all the neighboring new housing developments in Miami, Florida where I was born and raised to look at the furnished model homes. My life long love and appreciation for quality design began there and continued to my college and early work years in Texas and my 30 years in Los Angeles. This is property # 17 for me. I am certain I have a few more home projects in me but for now I am content. When the economy turns around I have a second bedroom & bath planned and lastly an outdoor spa (plunge pool) planned for this property.

JOHN BURNS purchased this house in 2007

Why JOHN BURNS chose Palm Springs

I am quite fond of the Warm Sands Neighborhood for a number of reasons. It is one of the oldest if not the oldest neighborhoods in Palm Springs. It has had many famous residents from Bugsy Seigle to Walt Disney. It is primarily Spanish in it's architecture (Adobe and Stucco) with a good representation of 40's and 50's Ranch and Mid Century. The mountain views are some of the best and walking and bicycling are great modes of transportation to downtown Palm Springs. I see a bright future for this area along with positive growth and enrichment.

What makes this house unique

The golden rules of Real Estate apply: 'Location, Location, Location'.

Just gorgeous!

We had just one night to spend in Palm Springs on a road trip from Oregon to Texas, and we are so thankful that John was willing to let us stay at this fabulous house! It was a quiet (and VERY comfortable) alternative to a hotel, and the location was really convenient. I highly recommend this house to a couple or small family looking to be close to the PS action without being stuck in the middle of it.

John and his assistant Mark were very helpful and easy to contact with any questions that I had. The house is perfectly located to walk to most of the best of what Palm Springs has to offer. I walked around the entire neighborhood early every morning and felt very safe and secure. The house is exactly as pictured and a nicely remodeled mid-century home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possible want. The only reason I didn't give the property a 5 star rating is there are additional rentals behind the house. It was all very quiet and peaceful however.
Thanks John!!

Fantastic Palm Springs Spot!

This great house is exactly what you expect from the photos and description. When we arrived, the owner John was there to meet us and show us around. The place was very clean and fully stocked with everything you could need in the kitchen, bathrooms and everywhere. If the weather is pleasant, you can walk to downtown in just a few minutes. We were a group of three and it worked perfectly for our trip to the desert and would highly recommend this property to anyone who asked. If you are looking for a good happy hour, try Shanghai Red's on Sunday, it is happy hour all day!

This lovely home is exactly as it appears in the pictures - nicely and comfortably furnished with lovely art and quiet privacy. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need or want. We loved the patio and barbecue, enjoying morning coffee there, reading in the late afternoon, and pleasant dinners. The home is well located and convenient to shops and golf courses. Both the owner, John, and his assistant, Mark, were great about answering questions and orienting us to the house when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay - thank you!

Great property, close to everything we were looking for.

  • 5 of 5
The property was everything it was written up to be and made for an excellent stay for our trip to Palm Springs. We were able to walk to many of the places we wanted to go, so the location was perfect for our needs. The home was very tastefully done, clean and comfortable. While we were not there to cook, the kitchen seemed well supplied should we have wanted to dine in. The bed and bath linens were all of high quality which made for restful nights, and ample bath linens for our stay. With the uncertainty of flights and CA traffic, we were delayed in arriving, but the owner was understanding of our situation and very accommodating. We hope to be back before it gets too hot.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5
Absolutely fabulous location and had a wonderful 2-week stay. Just a few blocks from the south end of downtown, so we spent many a day walking the streets shopping at boutiques and galleries, eating, drinking, listening to music, etc.. Close to grocery stores and parks, and with great access to some of our favorite golf courses and museums. The house itself is: a cute, little mid-century modern place with wonderful artwork and nice furnishings; a well-stocked, modern kitchen (we like cooking in rather than eating out); and a very functional lay-out with plenty of space for two people. Our experience was totally different from the previous review. The house was clean upon arrival (and because we couldn't get in right away, the owner gave us a free extra day). The owner was always available and very responsive to any questions or requests. While there are a couple of units in back of the house, there was very little traffic or noise. The neighborhood is dog-walking friendly and there is a great park two blocks away - our small dog had a great time. The only downside to the property was the lot; small and virtually all concrete or rock. I'm still giving this place 5 stars because the location looks just like the pictures (there were no surprises for us). Would definitely consider staying again and will recommend to friends.
