Our Mammoth Mountain Stiegler Chalet #23 In Partnership with Inyo National Forest is located just 100 yards from the main ski complex with easy access to the entire 11,053 ft. summit. Nestled in the trees the chalet's privacy provides the best possible setting for memorable family vacationing. Ski to the solitude and comfort of your chalet for lunch. The children will enjoy sledding right outside the front door! Spend more time on the slopes and far less time getting there and back. Upon arrival in the winter a snow-cat will shuttle you and your belongings in at arrival and out on your day of departure. Don't worry, the pathways to the chalets are packed and groomed daily and are an easy walk or ski of 150 yards from the parking facility. During the summer one can drive to and park next to the chalet. Summer visitors can walk across the parking lot, catch a bus to the 'gateway to the wilderness' Reds Meadow facilities, rent a mountain bike and traverse the mountain trails or just enjoy a panoramic gondola ride to the summit of Mammoth Mountain. Chalet #2 offers all these benefits and a charming, cozy vacation home away from home featuring all the living amenities including full kitchen, dining area, wood burning stove and an ample deck area to sit, relax and enjoy the views of the summit and the surrounding Inyo Forest. So join us and experience the wonders of Mammoth Mountain. The following amenities are located just a few short minutes away:

A Geologic Wonder
Established in 1911 by presidential proclamation, Devils Postpile National Monument protects and preserves the Devils Postpile formation, the 101-foot high Rainbow Falls, and pristine mountain scenery. The formation is a rare sight in the geologic world and ranks as one of the world's finest examples of columnar basalt. Its columns tower 60 feet high and display an unusual symmetry.
Red Meadow Pack Station Day Rides - Many visitors to Red's Meadow may want the experience of horseback riding through the forest and seeing some scenic country.
“Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center + Devils Postpile/Rainbow Falls”
Gondola building at the top of Mammoth Mountain

Combine these two to make a perfect day enjoying some of the best of the Eastern Sierra Nevadas. If you don't mind getting an early start, I recommend doing the Reds Meadown/Devil's Postpile/Rainbow Falls in the morning and the Top of the Sierra Interpretive Center in the afternoon. If you combine the two, you will get to see a beautiful alpine meadow, a hexagonal columnar lava flow, a 100 foot waterfall, ride a gondola and a 400 mile view of the Eastern Sierra Nevadas and still have time to go fishing or play a round of golf.
Driving down to the Postpile during the shuttle season (summer) is restricted to disabled, visitors to Red's Meadow resort and campers. Park at the Adventure Center (where you can take the Panorama Gondola to the Top of the Sierra)
Minaret Vista Point:Take the scenic drive in the summer or walk in the winter up to the Minaret Vista Point for quick access to some of the best views in all the Eastern Sierras, including panoramas of Mt. Ritter, Mt. Banner, and of course, the namesake Minarets
Experience the adventure of Mammoth's new Tube Park + Snow Play Area, perfect for all ages - featuring lights, music, and action! Come take the ride of your life on our groomed tubing lanes or stay warm by the heaters with a cup of hot cocoa. Families with little kids can build a snowman and enjoy the snow play area. Woolly's Adventure Summit is located on Minaret Road (SR203) approximately halfway between The Village at Mammoth and Main Lodge.
Got a dog? They love Mammoth too. Dogs are allowed on the Town’s trolleys (leash and muzzle), and on Mammoth Mountain’s scenic gondola (leash). All of the camp sights are dog friendly and many of the hotels allow pets.
