Recreational activities:
Our house is an ideal starting point for hikers, Nordic walkers and cyclists. You will find extensive opportunities to get active or to take a pleasant walk. Swimming lakes like Hopfensee, Weissensee, Firggensee and the closely located adventure baths (Pfronten, Nesselweg), Kristaltherme with sauna (Schwangau) invite you to swim and relax. Well-built cycle tracks lead you on paths of different length through the beautiful Allgau. For mountain bikers, there are special mountain courses. Nordic walking courses are offered during the summer and hiking in snowshoes is offered during the winter months.
Sightseeing:
Hopferau is by itself a real vacation center. In a short time, you may reach touristy and interesting destinations by car, bus or train, i.e.: the castle Neuschwanschein and Linderhof, Oberammergau, Garmisch – Partenkirchen, Tannheimer Valley and Tirol, Oberstdorf, Bodensee, Munich and many, many more.
Events:
So that our guests in Hopferau don’t get bored, our clubs organize amongst other things summer feasts with dances in traditional costumes, brass – band music, alphorn – blowing, and Country Theater. Furthermore Hopferau offers you to participate in torch walking, family hiking, Nordic-Walking, farm viewing, courses for building with hay, etc. Also you might do a guided tour through the Hopfauers´castle or a viewing of a cheese dairy or brewery. Additional events are offered by the “Hopfauer Schloss” (Hopfauer castle) and by the “Käsealm” (cheese alp). The festival house in Füssen, which lies attractively on the Forggensee, invites you to different invents.
Ski:
For skiers and snowboarders, Hopferau is an ideal point of origin. About 82 cable railways and lifts are developed over 145 km of runs and with the Allgäu–Tirol winter ticket you might get further than the Austrian borders. The ski resorts in Tannheimertal, Hahnenkamm at Reutte, Lermoos, Oberjoch are reached within 30 minutes, where you can go up to 1800 m in a chair lift. The nearby ski centers at Tegelberg, Pfronten and Nesselweg are highly recommended for beginners and advanced skiers. Here, everybody will find their preference: ski courses, floodlight runs, ski kindergarten, Aprés Ski or amusement in the mountain huts. Certainly, also the cross–country skier and skater have something. We can offer you around 140 km of cross–country courses around Hopferau. For those who prefer having fun with a sled, you might use the toboggan hills in Hopferau or the toboggan runs at the ski center or, after a proper snack in one of the huts, go downhill until you reach the valley.
Golf:
Closest golfing facilities are located in Neselwang and in Leckbruck (approximately 14 km away).
