Created in July 2012, an In-House Treasure Hunt for kids. Join in the fun, or just watch as the kids go room to room for answers to over 20 questions. The completed answers lead them to a hidden treasure chest full of surprises and treats.

The Maine Ski House offers something for everyone of all ages...

The open kitchen/dining/living rooms can keep everyone together for meals, socializing, and game playing. The well equipped kitchen is a cooks dream as there are ample supplies and prep areas for several people to help.There is a ton of storage, an extra fridge, and a beverage fridge by the coffee center.

The Rec Room has a Wii on its own TV, an Xbox 360 on its own TV, and a 55' TV can keep several different groups happy. There is also Foosball and an arcade game, a log-home doll house and some toys and books for young children.

The Three Cub Pub can accomodate 'older' kids for sports watching on 2 separate TV's.

The hot tub on the deck is a popular spot for the whole family...

The House and the Rec Room : The Maine Ski House was completed in August of 2010. All furnishings, appliances, linens, TV’s and electronics are brand new. The house was designed to accommodate large family and group gatherings. People of all ages will be happy and entertained with:

THE REC ROOM: Wii and Xbox on their own TV's, a 55' TV, Foosball, and a restored arcade game with approximately 60 classic games.

THE THREE CUB PUB: The pub has a second refrigerator, two more flat screen TV's, and seating to make you feel like you are really in your own pub.

THE MAIN LEVEL and HOT TUB : THE MAIN LEVEL: has a well -stocked large kitchen with commercial grade gas range and pots & pans, a pantry for food storage, and a separate beverage area for coffee and wine. The inviting large pub height table will accommodate your group to eat together and later play together. There are several board games to enjoy after a long day on the slopes.

THE HOT TUB: end your day star and satellite gazing from the 100 degree hot tub on the main level's deck.

We loved this house for our annual women's ski trip! It was spotless and excellently appointed. Anything we needed, it was there. And we are a fairly fussy group of 12+ women who have been doing this trip for more than 17 years. What did we love? What didn't we?!! Lots of (quality) beds, huge kitchen island, dining table and gourmet kitchen for our nightly feasts, hot tub right outside the great room slider, and lots more. The location is great and Paula pays attention to details like no other property owner or agency that we have ever dealt with. Thanks, Paula. We will definitely be back!

The best ever!

This is by far the best ski house I have ever stayed in. My lab has an annual ski trip and for the past 3 our of the 7 years we have stayed at the Maine Ski House. Basically, since we discovered The Maine Ski House, we have not wanted to stay anywhere else! The size is perfect for groups with children and the Treasure Hunt this year kept the kids entertained for hours!

The house is well organized and has everything you could ever need (seriously, Paula has thought of everything). The mudroom is very convenient for keeping ski gear etc. The living room is very cozy and the kitchen and dining room are excellent. In fact, I think the kitchen is my favorite part -- perfect for making home cooked meals.

The downstairs area provides an excellent space for relaxing, having fun, playing music, and foosball and generally letting loose after a full day of skiing. The hot tub is also an excellent way to relax after skiing.

Paula is an amazing host -- she has always been very responsive and helpful when we had questions or needed something during our stay. The reviews do not lie -- The Maine Ski House really is the best place you could stay for your ski vacation!

perfect ski house

The photos don't lie -- this is a well designed, beautifully decorated home loaded with amenities. The ski room off the front door and the many coat hooks in the hall keep your gear sorted and ready to go. The lower level 3 Cub Pub and game room allow for lots of fun activities while not disturbing anyone sleeping in the upper level bedrooms. The cleaning and plowing services are top notch. And the owners will respond immediately to any questions you might have. All in all the best ski house we have ever rented!

Great Vacation!!

I don't really want to leave a good review because then everyone will want to stay here! We just wanted to thank Paula for all her efforts, your home is beautiful, the layout was great, we had a great time and have some wonderful memories. We ran out of propane in the grill and Paula had it taken care of in an hour, we got a little snow and Paula had guys over there shoveling of the decks, plowing and brushing off the stairs. First time in a long time I just got to sit back and relax. This home will not disappoint anyone, thank you so much for a Great Vacation! We WILL be back!!

Clean, Warm, Inviting and Plenty of Amenities

This was our second year at the Main Ski House near Sunday River along with my two daughters and 5 grandchildren. The house was every bit what we remembered it to be from 2012 and was just as clean. The great think is we have only to pack our clothes, skis, and food and everything else is right there waiting for us. This year the kids were thrilled to have a fun treasure hunt waiting for them. They scurried around the house up and down the stairs having a great time looking for the treasure and it allowed the adults to relax a little from the drive there.
You cannot go wrong renting this place. It is all that it advertises and the owners cannot be nicer or more accommodating and helpful. It is a mere five minutes to the mountain and easily accesible to restaurants if you really want to leave but frankly no one ever wants to do that. With a day filled with skiing it is great to come home to this cozy retreat and know that there is plenty there for the kids to keep busy and the adults to relax. The hot tub is a hit for the adults and kids alike and was well maintained and clean.
I would not hesitate to use rent the house anytime of year as the setting is beautiful and peaceful.
