Why Deborah Van Dyken chose Beaufort

We bought this property because it was right around the corner from where we live, and it is in a great location - in the historic district and two blocks from the downtown waterfront.

Lighthouse Cottage in Beaufort, N.C.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was wonderful. Located within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. The cottage was clean, quaint and tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed, and more! The price was very reasonable for this area. We enjoyed going to the maritime museum, out to Carrot Island to see the wild horses and attended church at Harbor Church where we were warmly welcomed. We enjoyed delicious meals at the Front St. grille and Spouters Inn. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone. The owner has been very prompt and accommodating.

Beaufort Cottage

We stayed at the Lighthouse Cottage for the second time this past weekend and had another amazing visit. The cottage is in a perfect location for everything there is to see and do in Beaufort. We visited New Bern, NC on our way down, Moorehead City that first evening and then spent the next three days relaxing on the beaches. We took water ferries three different times, shopped the Front Street stores and ate fantastic food every night. The cottage was directly across from the Farmer's Market where we started our holiday shopping with jams, home made laundry detergent, salsa's and chutney's. This cottage is a great value, is super clean and offers everything you will need for a home base as you discover the Crystal Coast:) Deborah is awesome to work with when making reservations and if you accidentally lock yourself out:(

Best 5 days of my life

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in Beaufort. The cottage was fully equipped and very clean. Loved being in walking distance of the waterfront. So much to do and see that we will definitely have to come back. Everyone we met was so friendly. The owner Deborah was very informative and had a binder with very helpful information when we arrived. I recommend going to Shackleford Island, NC Maritime Museum, NC Aquarium in Pine Knoll Shores and Fort Macon. We ate at Clawson's, Skipperz, El's Drive in, and Rucker John's. They were all great!

Our stay in beautiful historic Beaufort, NC

  • 5 of 5

Great location to beautiful historic Beaufort, NC! Short walk to the waterfront. The cottage was well equipped -- enjoyed the use of the beach chairs, boogie boards, and beach towels. We went to Atlantic Beach and had a great day in the ocean. Having the washer and dryer in the cottage was great, we were able to keep up with our laundry. The bed was comfortable and we slept well, nice neighborhood.
