The downstairs is intimate in a good way but the loft is an expansive space where even dancing is possible. It could sleep a small army of kids.

It’s a place for board games or whatever when kids aren’t on the beach. Young kids will have lots of space to play away from grownups but still be with the family.

I re-designed the place for my parents in the late '80's, I tore off the roof and added a large loft space and skylights. I built custom cabinets and drawers for all of their stuff. I've been going to Stinson since I was a boy. I love to share the Stinson experience with others. I love the trails that start in town and climb up Mount Tam.
This home has been in the family for more than 50 years My grandparents built it by hand in 1954 and I completely remodeled it in 1988. Improvements are still happening.
Hiking and running the classic trails of Mt. Tamalpais (the Matt Davis and Steep Ravine trails are favorites), surfing Stinson Beach and Bolinas, Climbing on Stinson's quality 'bouldering rocks', bird and seal watching at the Bolinas Lagoon, getting a burger and fries at the Parkside Cafe, exploring the sand dunes and hiking to 'The Rocks' at the south end of Stinson Beach. Relaxing and reading by the fireplace on a winter day. Moon light walks on smooth sand all the way to Bolinas (2.5 miles) Finding shells and polished rocks on the beach. Everything is only a short walk away. Your car can stay parked while you enjoy Stinson.
20 minute drive to Point Reyes National Park and 20 minutes to the tall redwoods of Muir Woods. Fantastic hiking on Mt Tamalpais. Trails out the front door are wonderful. Short and beautiful drives take you to various trail heads that offer some of the best trail running in California. Mountain biking trails are great. Many nearby trails are 'dogs on leash friendly'.
