Kehena House Rental Photos and Description
3 Bedrooms + Bonus 4th bedroom, 2 1/2 Bathrooms (Sleeps 8)
On the Big Island, our family says 'E Komo Mai', and welcome to Kehena Beach Guest House. Our home is located in one of the most beautiful places on earth, the little known and prestine Puna Coast.
As you drive through the coast and you approach this home, you can see the details of a well designed house and it's premier location. The first hints are the full circular drive from street to door, and the tasteful landscaping lets you know you have found something special. This home is intimate for a couple, or large enough for a family. Top floor has main living area, dining area and gourmet kitchen with top of the line appliances, extra large master bedroom w/king size bed, master bathroom with double sinks, & walk-in shower, an expansive lanai with ocean views, a gas grill and an outdoor dining on the lanai. If your traveling with family or friends..on the first level there are 2 bedrooms each with a queen size bed, full bathroom with tub & shower, family room and laundry room.
Kehena Beach Guesthouse is south of an active volcano in the laid back community of Puna Beach Palisades. We are three short blocks from the old Red Road which hugs the water and leads to Kehena Beach. This is a black sand beach surrounded by towering lava cliffs. It is the sight of an ancient Hawaiian village and when you are sunning and hitting the waves in the rugged and charming water you will feel the spirit and soul of the islands.
Further Details: Check out the numerous Volcano Touring activities at the Volcano National Park, Lava Boat Tours, Lava Hikes or one of our favorites..the Geothermal Heated Hot Ponds.

Guestbook comments from the manager
"If we could give Juan 10 stars it wouldn't be enough....."
Firstly, the photo of the home doesn't begin to do justice to this lovely lovely B&B. Decorated with a fine eye and skilled hand, Juan and Larry have created a true retreat in the lava fields....luckily they are far enough away from Kalapana that it is not threatened by the recurrent flows. Driving into this residential neighborhood, we were curious as to what we would find- perhaps one of those spare rooms decked out with the leftovers of granny's house? NOT!!! A private entrance leads into a small guest dining room and lounge. A few books, great art and full on hospitality are just steps away from quiet and private rooms. Great mattresses, quiet colors in the linens tried to lure me to bed. However the firery volcano had to be visited first. There is a great little resturant (walk-up order window, fine fine ahi) not 5 min away for dinner and then the trek out to see Pele. (That is another story!). Getting back at 11 pm, sinking into that comfy bed was just heaven. In the morning Juan makes a full breakfast with fresh juice and homemade whatever you like- the french toast is highly reccommended. This place, and the people who call it home are not to be missed. Our mistake- not staying longer!!! This district is a hidden gem and next year we'll not make the same mistake twice.
