Overview

Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Situated on 1 acre facing the magnificent Longs Peak and the dominating peaks of the Mummy Range, our home will embrace you with space without losing the cozy feeling of a mountain retreat. There are three focal areas for you to spend your time depending on your mood. The main floor consists of a vaulted ceiling pine-paneled moss rock fireplace family room with skylights (one that opens for fresh air) that accommodates a lazy evening or cool day daydreaming about what the rest of the world is doing. Three bedrooms flank this room: the fishing bedroom, the cottage bedroom and the blue bedroom with the upstairs bathroom with an old-fashioned claw foot bathtub for soaking aching hiking muscles. Climbing four stairs brings you into the large great room consisting of a dining room, small bay window table for games and quick snacks, tv and sitting area. Continuing through the sliding glass door puts you on the front deck that provides plenty of sun and views of the magnificent Rockies (one of the best views of Longs Peak), wild life and fresh pine air. Going down the stairs will bring you to the open walk-out basement that consists of a sitting area, a king-sized bed, a double bed, laundry room and bathroom with a shower. All of this provides enough space for everyone to either be together or to do your own thing.

About The Owner

This property has been in our family for over 55 years. It has been an on-going labor of love to remodel and expand to meet our family’s needs. We love to come and just ‘veg’, forgetting about phones and the outside world for a time to recharge our batteries. With the downtown for shopping excursions and the park so close for hiking, we never lack for things to do when we are in the mood. I, for one, love to sit by the fire in the evening and enjoy the quiet sounds of the wind blowing through the pines.

The Owner purchased this house in 1955

Why The Owner chose Estes Park

Estes Park has been a relaxing getaway spot for over 130 years because it is the closest access to the Rockies from Denver without having to travel freeways and fighting traffic. It has been great for our family because of it's locale and convenience and providing a place for us to enjoy the mountains and the fresh pine air.

What makes this house unique

Our location is between downtown Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park which makes it convenient to either enjoy shopping or hiking. We are remote enough from downtown that you still can feel secluded from all of the other visitors to Estes.

Excellent Location

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this home. The house was clean, spacious and close to everything. You really can't beat being only 5 minutes to the entrance of the park and to downtown Estes Park. The pictures accurately reflect the appearance of the property. We saw elk several days right outside the front porch. Also saw several mule deer right out back one morning while going to breakfast.

Had a wonderful stay at this lovely home. Location is great at west edge of Rocky Mountain NP, near Beaver Meadow Visitor Center and park entrance. Home is large and well appointed. The VRBO photos accurately reflect appearance. Home was clean and furnished with all kitchen and other facilities and equipment needed. We loved the fireplace. The owner was readily available when we had questions or needed information. Before we arrived the owner also provided a list of restaurants and stores that was very helpful.

One day after returning from a hiking trip inside the park we came back to house and two bull elk were enjoying the back yard, right next to the carport. We saw more elk and mule deer than we ever dreamed we would see, both near the house and inside the park.

The house is large enough for extended family vacations and I hope to get my crew to find a time for us to vacation there next year.

A great place to be!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Henninger House at the Hummingbird Lane very much! It was cean and spacy, there were lots of kitchen utensils, towels and bed linens. We were with 6 and used all 4 bedrooms. If your party is bigger than 8, 4 will have to sleep on a sofa. There is 1 bathroom with a bath and 1 bathroom with a shower. Because we didn't use the bath, it took some coordination to take a shower. We spotted lots of wild life, even in the backyard. We surely would recommend this property. We made many trips but the Old Fall Road in Rocky Mountain National Park was the most exciting! This property was our first stop in Colorado and it was a good start!

Nice House

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed ou stay. It was really nice to have lots of kitchen supplies and items like spices, sugar, and other ingredients so that we didn't need to buy a whole box to use once. The house was clean and nicely decorated.

Hummingbird Lane House

  • 4 of 5

My Family & I rented Hummingbird Lane House for our Daughter's wedding (she was married in Upper Beaver Meadows). HL house met our needs perfectly. The view from the deck was amazing (watched a bobcat cross the yard within minutes of our arrival, enjoyed the mule deer resting under the neighbor's deck and loved hearing the chipmunks squeaking outside of our windows). Our family will definitely consider staying at HL house again when we visit Estes Park.

Comfortable home, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 kids) found this home to be just what we needed. Location and views from the deck can't be beat. Loads of space for games, meals, etc. Directions and map were perfect. Home is clean and well maintained. Towels and bed linens were well above average - thanks! Our only suggestion would be to swap out some of the double beds for twins to have more flexibility with kids, but otherwise we had everything we needed and more.
