The Island of Lefkas has always amidst discussion as to whether or not it really is an island, as only joined by a causeway to the mainland. Ironically enough, once actually there, you feel more the pace and the authenticity of island life than many of the more popular island destinations. ‘Traditional’ is a word that is widely used to describe Lefkas, although a trip to the villages will ensure spying at least a few donkeys carrying firewood, elderly ladies in traditional dress carrying baskets on their heads and traditional working villages, you actually don’t have to go very far to see such sights. Lefkas boasts not only some of the best beaches in Europe, Porto Katsiki and Agiofillis, it also has wonderful little coves and crystal clear waters to choose from. Scorpios is just one of the little islands that gather around the bay, notorious for its schools of dolphins. In the morning you will surely watch the spectacular sunrise while the evening you will enjoy the many fish taverns
