Beautifully restored 300-year old village house with magnificent oak floors and original marble fireplaces. SEE LINK TO OWNERS WEBSITE BELOW! This spacious and light-filled house retains many original features including high ceilings, intricately carved moldings and an elegant winding mahogany staircase. The house features a large eat-in kitchen complete with all modern appliances including dishwasher, 4-burner gas cook-top and convection oven. The kitchen is well fitted with dishes, utensils and serving-ware for up to 10 persons. There are 3 large luxuriously furnished bedrooms each with comfortable beds and large sunny windows. The house has 2 full bathrooms, both with large tub/shower.
There is a bright and stylishly decorated living room with ample seating and flat-screen satellite television. One of the most surprising features of this house is its amazing roof-top terrace with stunning views of the surrounding village and picturesque countryside. In addition to its classic old world charm, this house also has all necessary modern amenities including a washer/dryer, wireless internet access, TV and telephone (with free long distance calls to the US and most other locations). The house is also an ideal winter house with central heating throughout.
Monflanquin is a historic 13th century hilltop bastide village located approximately 20 minutes north east of Villeneuve Sur Lot and is chosen as one of France’s prettiest medieval villages. The house is located just four doors down from the village center with its lively restaurants and bustling weekly market both offering gourmet food and fine local wines. The village has a health club, swimming pool, bike hire and access to horseback riding and tennis. Lakes, canoeing and golf courses are all available nearby. The village is high on this bastide hilltop so Monflanquin enjoys beautiful breezes and panoramic views.

We grew up in Los Angeles and now live in between San Diego and Monflanquin. We love to entertain, home reno projects, we enjoy travel, food and wine!

We have been visiting this region for many years and really love the culture, history, food, wine and mostly the people!
Aside serving good food and wine the local cafes have such a great cast of characters. They are friendly, fun, knowledgeable and very pleasant to be around.
We had an excellent week in this beautiful house in Monflanquin. The house itself is very well-equipped – the kitchen particularly so – and the roof terrace gives you a nice outside space to eat, read, lie in the sun, or just enjoy the view. Monflanquin is a charming bastide village and there are plenty of options for eating out: the best of those we tried were the excellent Lebanese restaurant over the road, Aldayaa, and, for lunch, the menu du jour at La Bastide des Oliviers down the hill. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for something a bit different from a gite with a pool!
