This is a beautiful 1898 Victorian home that was completely remodeled in 2007. Stunning, handcrafted interiors, custom wood work throughout the home. Stainless steel appliances, large fenced private yard. Walk to the river, downtown, library, or across the street to the 'Triangle Park' - one of the best places in town for kids to play and adults to relax. Five minutes to the Discovery Museum. Ten minute walk to Main Avenue with all the restaurants and shopping. A private, well landscaped flowering yard with front and back porches and a hammock. Your own beautiful, clean home away from home where you can relax and enjoy the true Durango lifestyle.
Two large bedrooms upstairs each with a king bed. One with a private small balcony with french doors overlooking the park. The second bedroom also has a twin bed. Large oval soaking tub in the upstairs bathroom.
Downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. The leather couch also has a pull out queen bed.
Open floor plan, maple counter tops and hand crafted beams and tons of natural light will make it hard to actually leave the house to explore Durango, and will be a peaceful and comfortable place to come home to after your days of fun.

Forrest and Shona moved to Durango to attend Fort Lewis College in 1990. We have ventured away to explore other areas for a few years but Durango is a hard place to leave, and we feel fortunate to be raising our family here. Shona is a Registered Nurse and Forrest manages property. We have a two young boys (3 & 5) and enjoy all that Durango has to offer for kids and family. It is almost not fair how much there is to do here! Minutes from the house there is great, single track mountain biking or big mountain road biking, kayaking and rafting. If that is not your thing, take a leisurely walk or bike ride on the bike path or head down town for spa/shop/eat/cocktails. Head up to Fort Lewis and take in the stunning mountain views. Finish up and stroll downtown for an appetizer and some dinner with drinks before walking the lit river trail home, crossing the Animas River walking bridge on the way. You hear the train roll by and catch a ride to Silverton!
Durango purchased this house in 1995
This House was in severe disrepair when it was purchased in 1995. After a lot of love, care, blood, sweat and tears it is back in it's prime and ready for visitors!

Stayed here as our home-base for a quick three day trip to Durango. We had young adults who found the location, open floor plan, and deck very accommodating. The house was very clean and had easy access to downtown and the river. After a long day of rafting or hiking the hammock was the favored spot for a little relaxation. Bonus when we realized we could watch the fireworks from the park across the street. Off street parking was nice and allowed easy access to the back door.
Durango is a fantastic place, we will visit again and would definitely return to Park House.
I cannot recommend this place enough. The house and grounds are beautiful. Add great customer service from the owners with the location in Durango this has to be the perfect rental.
A very well kept and up to date property. Pictures online are spot on. 10-15 minute walk to anywhere in town and only a 3 minute walk to the river. Owner's were very accommodating as we arrived earlier then the check-in time. Absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy Durango.
The house is surrounded by a tall wooden fence that was not shown in the house photo. There are two wooden gates both of which will not latch and are in need of repair. The shrubs on the inside and outside of the fence are not being maintained, and the grass needed to be cut. The inside of the house was very nice, but also not being maintained. Numerous light bulbs needed to be replaced, several pieces of furniture needed to be replaced, including the leather sofa that has a hole in one of the seat cushions, and the upstairs commode is not attached properly to the floor. There was a shortage of wash clothes so we used dish rags as a substitute. The appliances are 1st class and across the street is a very nice city park. From the house to the train station is approximately 1 mile in distance.
This home exceeded our expectations. When we first entered this beautiful home, we all just said "Wow". The pictures do not do this home justice. The remodeling is just gorgeous, the woodwork fantastic, the ceilings are high and the lighting is plentiful, with big windows and a warm and comforting atmosphere. The appliances are high end, bathrooms tiled and modern, yet the home has retained it's traditional beauty. The fenced in yard makes the home private. The home was spotless, and well maintained. With all of this, the location could not have been better, within walking distance to downtown, yet in a lovely neighborhood across from a park! The owner could not have been more helpful or friendly. We highly recommend this lovely home and will be sure to rent it again on future visits to Durango.
This is a wonderful house right in the center of town. It has a beautiful peaceful yard, lots of space and all of the luxury that you would expect in the price range. It was super clean and the couple who own it were very accommodating. It was even stocked with basic items for cooking. My only suggestion to the owners is facial tissue and washclothes seemed to be missing.
