On the positive side, we enjoyed our stay here in Florida. The property had a nice layout and we had ample space for our needs. The location is very close to the Disney parks with restaurants and shopping nearby. I enjoyed quiet walks in the neighborhood most mornings, and we spent several afternoons at the community pool. The townhouse had most of what we needed for a home away from home for a month. It was not “luxury” as advertised, but it was nice enough.
There were several negative issues which, if addressed, would improve the property. Since each guest pays a cleaning fee and damage deposit, I expected a better appearance. The carpets were heavily stained in many areas. The property was surface clean-sinks, floors, tubs, furniture, linens, etc. However, a deep cleaning and some paint would certainly be an improvement. Black scuffs and scrapes on the walls and white baseboards, as well as some holes in the wall plaster, detracted. All of the ceiling fans needed to be cleaned and several light bulbs were out. A sock was found under the bed and mattress pads were stained. A crack in the floor grout ran the length of the home and collected dirt. The sofa in the living room is broken on one end and needs repair for comfortable sitting.
The property manager was responsive to our concerns. The leaking roof was hopefully repaired, and the stained bedroom ceiling was cleaned and painted during our stay. Hopefully all mold was taken care of. The non-flushing toilet was fixed (it took a week). A missing kitchen sink stopper was provided after we purchased two that didn’t fit.
Not all amenities were available as described. The safe had no way to access it. The DVD player was not hooked up; there were no games for kids, no video games, no fax, no grill, no vac system (unless it was the upright carpet vac with a broken handle), no laundry soap. Also disappointing was the lack of a table and any outdoor seating to enjoy the patio area.
Owner communication was prompt relative to booking, but later in the process contact was more difficult to establish. Seven weeks after our departure we are still waiting the return of our damage deposit.
