We had an amazing time staying at the Maui Winds rental house east of Paia. The house was all that we hoped for and was centrally located for access to many different points on the island. Jill Thorwegen, our booking agent, was fantastic and helped us through every step of the process. The nearby town of Paia was great for shopping and dining out.....and only a 30 min walk away.
We would stay at Maui Winds again in a heartbeat!
Rented the upstairs on this unit with 3 friends for a wedding December 7th 2014. Beautiful views from all windows, including being able to hear and see the ocean clearly from the Master! House is completely updated and beautiful inside and out. Loved cooking in the fully furbished kitchen, and being able to take our meal up to the rooftop lanai for some amazing views while dining was quite the extraordinary experience. Throw in a beach just 3 minutes walk from our doorstep and we could all earnestly say by the end that Maui Winds would be an amazing place to live year-round. Many mahalos!
Our stay at Maui Winds was terrific. My friend and I were in town to participate in the Cycle to the Sun bike race, and we both really enjoyed our time at this beautiful rental home. Upscale, fully equipped, spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable, great deck space as well as a fabulous roof top deck, a short stroll to the beach and Mama's Fish house, and 5 minutes away from Hookipa and Paia town center. Rental process was smooth and efficient. Hope to return next year with my family.
Many of the luxuries of an upscale hotel with privacy and a panoramic rooftop view. The home is very secure, quiet and in a friendly convienient neighbourhood. All rooms are large and open with ample seating inside and out. There is a private beach across the street and Paia is a short walk or bicycle ride away. Greg the manager is professional, friendly and available for assistance. We would highly recommend the property to wind sport enthusiasts.
The property was great. I loved the location, the security and privacy, the size, the cleanliness and organization, the simplicity of the booking, the hospitality of Greg, the comforts of my own home, and it was priced reasonably. I enjoyed my stay with my grown sons who were thrilled to be living it up at Maui Winds.
Our family of 4 stayed in the upstairs of the house, and it was great for our needs. Plenty of space, very comfortable, great location. The rooftop deck was a big plus, the perfect place to enjoy an evening cocktail and a chat with the neighborhood macaw. The manager Greg was very helpful, there when we arrived to show us around, and quick to respond when we needed any help. My only suggestion would be to have some more staples readily available for cooking in the kitchen. The cupbard was pretty bare, not even any salt and pepper, so we had to shop for a lot of the basics. Paia is a fun, funky little town that we chose specifically for its lack of resorts. We enjoyed Baldwin Beach for its local color, Milagro's restaurant (excellent Key Lime Pie!) and Mana Foods was the perfect market for the vegetarian in our family. The location was a good starting point to see the rest of the island as well. The resorts and beaches of Kihei and Kaanapali are not too far if you'd like to spend the day somewhere with a different beautiful view. Haleakala crater is spectacular, well worth the drive. I would definitely recommend this home, and hope to come back again one day!
What a perfect home for a relaxing family vacation in Paia. The home is well equipped and very comfortable with great views from the patio deck. Easy access to Baldwin Beach and the beach at Mama's Fish House, as well as, short 20 minute walks into Paia to enjoy great food at Milagros, Flatbread Pizza and Paia Fish Market. We enjoyed traveling upcountry to experience the quaint towns of Makawao and Haiku (try Colleen's for a great casual meal). For a change of pace, Wailea and Lahaina are short and easy drives. Try Honu Seafood and Pizza in Lahaina, great food overlooking the water.
