|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Try out the island life on this gorgeous barrier island, home to Villa Villekula. As a happy and inviting vacation retreat, it welcomes guests with bright colors and tropical atmosphere. The owners call it their “Pippi Longstocking” House; “three stories of color and love”. It’s so named for its bright paintwork, charming nooks and crannies, lovely shutters and picket fencing. Any visitor here will gladly note its likeness to beloved Pippi movies of old.

So fun and lovely - no one ever wants to leave! Just 100 yards from the Atlantic Ocean, on a tiny barrier island. We have upgraded to Direct TV satellite service at Villa Villekula. There now is a 46" flat screen THD TV in the living area and a 32" flat screen TV in the Master bedroom.

The house sleeps ten guests in four spacious bedrooms, with three and a half baths available as well. It’s a crayon box you get to live inside, right next to the beach. Three stories of color and love: The top floor great room has 16 windows for views all around. From the outer deck is a very partial view of the ocean. Cooks kitchen opens to the dining area, opens to the living area, opens to the dining deck. A roomy pantry and powder room completes this top level. The second floor holds three roomy bedrooms and two baths, plus a deck off the master bedroom suite.

The top floor is dedicated to the main family space. Here, a great room with sixteen windows provided wrap-around views. Glance to the water and back again, or come upstairs to enjoy the sunrise and later the sunset.

A small kitchen opens on to the dining area, making family meals a cinch. Beyond that is another living area, and beyond that the large outside dining deck. It gets better and better! Stock up on all your indulgent vacation essentials (and don’t skimp on the brownies). A big pantry will keep it all at hand and is a great destination for midnight snacks.

Just downstairs is the main bedroom floor, where three bedrooms show off in cheery colors bathed in constant sunlight. Each room has a comfortable bed and lovely ambiance, distinguishing itself with its own linen and accent colors. Who will pick the blue room? What about the salmon twin bed room with artisan drapes? The green room looks even better when the morning sun brings it to life. The other bedrooms still have the same TV, but include Direct TV service as well.

Enjoy this vacation together yet keep your own schedule - choose to sleep in late in the room you choose for yourself. The master suite’s occupants even enjoy their own private deck. What better place for a rewarding night cap?

On the first floor, find every convenience you’ll need while enjoying home away from home. A carport provides shady parking and the fenced yard is ideal for your pets (yes, they’re invited, too!). Laundry facilities are available - though the hammock might sound more tempting.

All bathed in sunlight and cheery colors - beautiful linens and every touch to give each guest an escape in their own room. The first floor is a large entrance foyer, laundry and utility room, carport, fenced yard, hammock, gardens, climbing trees - both sun and shade.

Note: Due to Summer Haven beach erosion concerns created by Tropical Storm Faye, there is now an area of large boulders blocking the beach access points closest to the property. This is a matter of much press (and legal battles) as a private home owner did to protect his beach home which in turn blocked the public access point. Although you can walk in between these boulders to access the beach like the locals that live near by, the nearest easy beach access is approximately 1 mile north at Fort Mantanzas National Park. It has (free) paved parking and provides beach access via a meandering boardwalk through the park. It takes approximately 5 minutes to walk this boardwalk to get to the beach.
My name is Steve Milo and I stay in Vacation Rental Homes when I travel both domestically and abroad. I own several vacation rental homes and listen carefully to our guests and their feedback and then opened my company Vacation Rental Pros in 2006! Our greatest compliment is when our guests refer our web site to their friends and relatives. AND, now Vacation Rental Pros is managing over 825 properties in Ft Myers Beach, Orlando, St Augustine Beach, Daytona Beach, Palm Coast and Ponte Vedra Beach. Our guests and their great 'word of mouth' have helped us expand to over 825+ vacation rentals. We booked over 15,000 rentals and received over 5,000 guest reviews in 2014.
There were 9 of us staying at the villa and we were not happy with our experience at all. Upon our arrival the trash cans right by the main entrance had not been emptied and they were full of rotten smelly food. The master shower had kitty litter and mold in the shower. The kitchen counter (glass top) the edges are filthy and the caulking needs to be replaced. Any dish we used we had to wash it first every time as there were roaches everywhere. The pictures that are shown shows that there is beach access which is true if you go a half mile away not true beach access.. Do I recommend this NO Will I return NO..
SInce we were the Official renters, ans were to take the Master suite, it would have been nice if the Master, King-sized bed did not sag in the middle. In other words, I expect to have the BEST bed in the house since we are footing the bill. otherwise th site was great.
This was our second trip to Villa Villekula House. We love Summer Haven where the house is located. On this visit we found the house had not been maintained as well as it was the previous year. The house needs maintenance and updating. I realize many renters don't take care of the property. And,its expensive and time consuming for the owner to maintain. I understand it is the owners responsibility to maintain the property, not Vacation Rental Pros. We enjoyed our stay there. We hope to visit there again in the future. But, the house needs work and a thorough cleaning. Vacation Rental Pros is a top notch rental company. If there is an issue they are on top of it! I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again!
Villa Villekula was a great and roomy house for our purposes (two couples) where we could spend time together in the big kitchen/living area but also have privacy. The outdoor areas (yard, fence, porches and porch furniture) need a lot of attention) and the few towels provided were old and tattered. But other than that, it was a very nice stay.
We spent the weekend in St Augustine for our wedding. Accommodations were great! Everyone loved the house! The secluded beach is 's a little bit of a trek but figured on the last day we could park close to the road. I would only suggest to supply a couple more towels possibly for the beach. We flew in from Arizona so packing was right and didn't have beach towels. Loved this house we can't wait to come back.
A large group I friends and I stayed here for our spring break and we couldn't have been happier. The house was great and perfect size for us and was very close to a pretty private beach. I would definitely stay here again with my friends in the future.
