This house is located in the historical district of Hailey, about 10 miles from the Sun Valley Resort. The exterior of the house follows the bungalow style of the district, yet the windows, doors and interior have been completely renovated to a clean, open and modern finish.
The house has a cottage-style garden with flagstone walkways, shady/grassy areas for play, and mature conifers and huge, majestic deciduous trees. The yard is fully fenced for your fido(s). The living room and kitchen are very 'open plan' and provide a nice gathering place. There is a river-rock fireplace, and HDTV 1080p television with surround sound in the living room, with Roku box for streaming movies and television (Amazon Prime account), as well as DVD player and iPod dock.
The master bedroom is located on the second floor with a queen bed. It has an ensuite bathroom with both a shower stall and a separate, large soaking tub that accommodates two people. Guest bedroom #1 is also located on the second floor, with a full-size bed and its own full ensuite bathroom. Guest bedroom #2 is downstairs, and has two twin beds, using the full downstairs bathroom (which is not ensuite).
The kitchen has a stainless steel island that has three counter stools for conversation while cooking. The dining table seats six without the extension leaves, or twelve with the two extension leaves and two benches. There are kitchen dishes, serving platters and flatware for twelve as well.
The amenities and businesses of Hailey are within short walking distance.
Sun Valley Resort and the town of Ketchum are about 20 minutes drive to the north.

I am an alpinist, land and water planning consultant, and finance professor. I first skied at Sun Valley during the 1970/71 season and have been in love with the Wood River Valley and surrounding mountain ranges ever since. My favorite local activity is backcountry skiing. Summer backpacking and climbing are a close second, and I am on my mountain bike most days when the trails are dry. I split my time between Hailey and Boise, Idaho.
After living and working all over the US, Europe and Australia, I concluded that this was the nicest place on the planet for my tastes. The area offers an amazing combination of culture and wilderness. Gourmet restaurants, fresh and exotic ingredients for cooking at home, great shops, and a vibrant visual and performing arts scene are surrounded by five mountain ranges that each has unique character and wilderness values. Sun Valley is America's oldest destination ski resort and has a sense of heritage and tradition that I adore. The area is pretty hard to reach from the coasts, which keeps it relatively untrammeled. There is really no 'industrial tourism' of the kind seen in the mountains of California, Colorado and Utah.
Hailey is the seat of government for Blaine County. The historic avenues district is in the center of town and is three blocks from Main Street, where the restaurants and shops are located. The home is less than 100 feet from the trail network (unlimited mountain biking in summer and 200 miles of groomed Nordic trails in winter). The town's outdoor skating rink is one block away, and is lighted for free skating into the evenings. Hailey is the most vibrant, four season town of the Wood River valley, and is home to many of the valley's finest restaurants, shops and performing arts events.
Located less than 200 yards from the home, you'll have easy access to the following: Hailey's ice skating rink, rodeo grounds, McKercher Park and groomed Nordic ski and bicycle trail connecting to over 170 kilometers of trails.
