My husband, Art, and I purchased this home in 2004 as our vacation escape home. We came up from MA at every possible opportunity to enjoy the peace and serenity of Eidelweiss Village. Since we both love mountain hiking, kayaking and swimming in the summer and cross-country and downhill skiing in the winter, this was our dream spot. Since we couldn't be here all the time, we decided it would be fun to share our home with others and hear about their vacation adventures while visiting the area. In 2007, we moved permanently to this home in NH and took it off the rental market but in 2010 family ties compelled us back to MA. Although we no longer live here, and we've moved from place to place, we still love the house and love to share it with vacationers. We hope you love the house as much as we do, that you'll bring your family and friends, and that you'll build fond memories of great times here that will remain with you long after you've returned home.
When we first met with a Realtor to look at properties in the Mount Washington Valley area, we told him the house had to have a view. 'The view is the thing for us'. Luckily, we found just the right house with awesome views of one of our favorite mountains, Mount Chocorua, purported to be one of the most photographed mountains in the world. There's nothing like waking up every morning and opening the blinds to greet the day and seeing the rocky peak of Mount Chocorua just off the back deck. With it's craggy, rocky peak jutting into a clear blue sky, it's a picture that never fails to remind me of Earth's awesome beauty. When sitting out on the back deck, there's often not a sound to be heard. Everything about this property is serene and peaceful. We hope you find it relaxing and stress free.
While enjoying the natural beauty of the White Mountains can be all about relaxing, there's also tons of activity going on in the area for those who like a little excitement. From the restaurants, live theater, shops and nightlife to StoryLand, Zip-lining and river rafting, there's definitely something for everyone nearby. Our location is central to just about everything New England has to offer. With just a short ride you can visit the Kancamagus Scenic Highway, Mount Washington, the coasts of NH and Maine, Lake Winnipesaukee, the Saco River or any one of several mountain peaks. For travelers new to the New England area, Boston is under 3 hours and NYC is a day trip.
