My husband & I chose Aruba as our destination to celebrate our 45th anniversary and chose Ruby 59.
We had problems at the airport with the rental SUV not being there & had to travel elsewhere to pick it up, meet with Eve to take us by the Super Foods & then to the villa. Our first impression was outstanding with all the beautiful flowers out front & after the tour of the villa. We had an outstanding anniversary celebrating at Passions on the Beach Restaurant enjoying a gorgeous sunset & being spoiled completely! The villa was very relaxing and had everything we needed to do the little cooking that we did do. Our only dislike was that the master bath had very small lights and dark when trying to apply makeup or shave. The ceiling light & fan were not bright enough and noisy. Also, the master bath & second bath did not have any electrical plug ins for hair dryers, etc. The ceiling light in the kitchen did not work until we called & JP came by to fix that situation. The main concern that we had and what turned out to be very time consuming & stressful for us was that our rental SUV was parked outside in front of the villa & the driver & passenger mirrors along with the antennae were stolen. After much anxiety, talking & meeting with car rental staff, rental insurance claims staff, the police, then trying to replace the SUV for two days it was hard to get back to our vacation. The car rental staff along with the police both stated that it would have been safer had we been able to park our rental SUV inside the villa gate that might have helped to deter these items being stolen. After a call to Eve, JP came by later that night to show us how to open and close the gate when we parked our second rental SUV inside the gate. To date, we still have not received a report from the car rental company as to how much it will cost to replace these items. We had travel insurance, of course, but who knows when something like this will happen. We just wished that it had not!
All in all, we managed to enjoy the remaining days we had at villa Ruby 59 & continue our exploring the island & enjoying some warm sun, food and fun in Aruba.
As for being one happy island...we think not!
Our thanks to Eve & JP for your kind assistance while staying at Ruby 59.
Thank you Larry & Doreen for allowing us to share your slice of paradise....if only for a week
