We finally moved to North Conway! We vacationed in the Mt. Washington Valley for more than 25 years knowing we would retire here someday. Hiking in the White Mountains has been a passion of ours since our daughter was little and we stayed in North Conway. Those were the days of StoryLand and beaches. Now, our daughter is grown and lives in Charlotte, NC. Don and I are now semi-retired and we live in a lovely condo in the Mt. Washington Valley with our dog Bogie and cat Morgan. So now, our rental house is available year-round for rentals. Plus, we are here to make sure that the house is always 'hotel ready' for your stay!
Jonna purchased this house in 2004
Why Jonna chose North Conway
First of all, while you are at the house I am always available to answer your questions. Just text, email or call me - anytime. I love helping renters enjoy their stay. However, your rental time is your time and I will never contact you while you are on vacation. Plus, we know what we love in a rental house. When we purchased this property we created a vacation house we are proud of. It has everything needed and plenty of room to entertain. It's clean and comfortable. Why board your family dog when you can take him/her on vacation? Our Labradoodle Bogie is part of our family and we always take him on vacation. Bogie loves swimming in Echo Lake (off-season) and hiking Echo Lake State Park with us. We walk down the backyard path and Echo Lake is right there. Plenty of hiking trails and spectacular views of Cathedral and White Horse Ledge. This house is private yet close to all the White Mountain Valley activities. In 2012 we added a campfire pit. Sitting around the campfire is truly magical. The kids love to toast marshmallows and make s'mores. The grown-ups enjoy telling stories and sharing secrets around the campfire at night. Memories are made that will last for years to come. The regulation size horseshoe pit is fun for kids of all ages. If it's raining - no problem because the house is equipped with games, puzzles, 4 TV's, plenty of videos/DVDs and a library of books. Tax free shopping abounds in Conway so you always hop in the car and shop. There are movie theaters, live performances, the Discovery Museum, the Conway Scenic Railway, Storyland, Children's Museum, Cranmore Mountain Adventure Park and much more. All in all It's a unique property in a fabulous spot. We have mostly repeat renters and that speaks for itself!
What makes this house unique
The house is situated in a private neighborhood, surrounded by trees but close to all activities. Kids of all ages love the rec room on the lowest level. There is a TV with DVD player, ping pong, electronic basketball. foosball and magnetic darts. (You can hook up your game console to our TV.) Plenty of room to spread out on the main level with a modern eat-in kitchen, dining room, den and living room. The large deck is a major plus in the warmer months. Not to mention the horse shoe game and fire pit. Just a short walk down our path to Echo Lake. Echo Lake State Park has a life guarded beach in the summer with a spectacular view of the ledges. You can even see rock climbers heading up Cathedral Ledge. Drive or walk up to the Cathedral Ledge Summit and see Echo Lake and the valley below. Diana's Bath is less than 1 mile from our house. Our fire pit is a wonderful place to have memorable camp fires. This is truly a unique place to stay!
Guestbook comments from the owner
Just a short note to let you know how much fun we had at your house this year. We are ever so grateful for the opportunity to stay there. We always start our week off with a Mass at Our Lady of the Mountain. It’s such a pretty church and we count our many blessings for our loving family and friends. We went to Cranmore Mountain. It was not a perfect day but it was empty and the kids rode all day with no lines and they had a blast. We also went to Jackson Falls another day, had a picnic and spent most of the afternoon there. It was so nice. Back at the house, we played Twister, card games and Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader, did a puzzle and had our annual fashion show. We only hit two thrift stores this year. The one at the church and the one next to the chocolate store. Everything there was a quarter. The girls looked lovely and too grown up for my liking. It is the best point of the week for them. We laughed until we almost cried. I brought them all different wigs from Halloween – green, red, blue and purple. If you can imagine them strolling down the stairs. I liked the new chairs in the living room as they were very comfortable. The kids loved going to Zebs and the 5&10 Store. Also, the river with the rope swing.
Well Jonna, this was going to be a short note but I keep babbling on. So many thanks to you and Don for another great week and “Another Day in Paradise!”
Gratefully Yours, Virginia
