MAISON DE LA ROYAL, PENTHOUSE, WALK TO FRENCH QUARTER.

I spent a lot of time researching where my large family (7 of us) could stay in New Orleans. I finally found Maison De La Royal and was hooked! It's a great place, plenty of space for my family and very close to all the action in the French Quarter. The photos and description in the listing are accurate. The home is only about a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter, or there is a bus stop across the street. We were traveling with kids and my mother who has mobility issues so rented a car. There was never a problem parking at the front door. The home was also very well suited for our kids and grandma.

The home was clean and the furnishings are very nice. The beds are very comfortable. A very nice perk is the supply of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, body wash, laundry detergent, etc. The master bedroom is large with two huge walk in closets and large bathroom. The kids enjoyed baths in the big tub. (There's also a standing shower in that bath). The other three bedrooms are down the hall. Our boys loved the bunk bed room! They said it was the best place we've ever stayed! The second master bedroom is a bit smaller (still large) with it's own bath. The bunk bed room and fourth bedroom, with two doubles, shares a bath in the hall with tub/shower. The kitchen is very well equipped. There was everything we needed, and then some, to cook and eat there. The two big hits with the kids are the large screen TV in the living room and the ping pong room. The play room is huge! A few couches for relaxing and a ping pong table, which was a lot of fun! I love using the door code lock so there are no keys to deal with.

There is a lot of information provided, in the kitchen, of the local area. Menus and dining guides, travel brochures for attractions and bus transportation maps. There is also wireless internet in the home, which came in handy when we needed to look up directions. I never met the owners but corresponded with Michael via email. He always answered my emails very promptly, usually within an hour!

The 24/7 market next door is great. Full of lots of fun people and everything you need. There are restaurants close by but we didn't go to any so I cannot comment on them. We spent a lot of time at attractions like the zoo, Insectarium and Aquarium, all great.

My family would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to New Orleans! Should we ever make it back we will be staying at Maison De La Royal again! Thanks for everything!
