Why the Owner Chose Taos: We fell in love with the location of this property. The elms and cottonwoods tower over this little dead-end street that is just off of Kit Carson Road. It is quiet and the end of the street is actually all Pueblo Land up to the base of the sacred mountain. You can here the coyotes there at night. It is also convenient to El Monte Sagrado's famous Anaconda Bar and a short walk to the Plaza
The Unique Benefits of this House: We love morning and evening on the front porch watching the magpies that live in a tree about 50 feet away. We like the view of the mountain from the patio where we dine in the summer. In the winter we like the fireplace and the smell of pinon pine in the air. Most nights we are there, we soak in the spa with a night-cap and enjoy the marvelous night sky in Taos
As your hosts, Lance and Holly pride themselves on making your stay as luxurious and comfortable as possible. They love to travel and have rented on VRBO around the globe. As full time professionals they are starting to slow down and take more time off. They especially love Taos and plan to retire to their second home someday.
Lance McIntosh purchased this house in 2007

Lance was extremely helpful and had very thoughtfully provided all the small amenities one might need. The location of the property is ideal. The spa and fireplace were great after skiing. The yard would be wonderful in the summer and fall.
The pictures do not do this lovely home justice. The home is beautifully furnished, clean and comfortable (terrific King-sized bed!), and extremely well equipped. We had a terrific time relaxing in the hot tub, going to the nearby Anaconda bar, and walking to the site of the Balloon Festival, and it was a very short drive to the center of Taos with all its museums, galleries, restaurants, bars, and historic attractions.
My friends and I live in Albuquerque. We're we very excited to show New Mexico, and specifically Taos to friends from the Seattle area. They have never been to New Mexico. Our selection of this wonderful house was perfect! There was beautiful decor, a fully equipped kitchen, and lovely bed and bath linens. Our friends loved it! And so did we! Even the sleeper couch was great! Lance was very responsive to our queries and concerns. Now, I just need another reason to visit. Like I even need a reason!
Beautiful home, huge yard surrounded by trees, perfect blend of modern comforts and traditional New Mexican décor. Our one month stay was a welcome relief from the Texas heat for us and our 2 Labrador retrievers. Thanks, Lance, for being a great host and we hope to return next summer.
From the moment we pulled up to the beautiful blue door, we knew this was going to be extraordinary. The furnishings are beautiful and one of a kind. The bed was sooo comfortable with luxurious linens. The house itself is in an upscale, private neighborhood and is close to the great shopping and activities. Lance and Holly provided everything for our needs. They thought of everything! Five stars is truly not enough for this property. We hope to return next year!
Located in an ideal neighborhood, very quiet and peaceful yet so incredibly close to everything you come to Taos for, within walking distance or a quick jaunt via vehicle to the main plaza. Absolutely lovely furnishings inside the home. The refrigerator wasn't very cool though. There were cobwebs that should have been cleaned before our arrival, very noticeable, especially when you walk in the front door. We also had our two goldens with. However, when we first arrived there was a dog within the yard already, perhaps a neighbors as it jumped the fence through a not so easy to see area by the hot tub, so we had to use the sleds that were there and propped them up as to not have the other dog in the yard. That was a bit scary. There were also hoses and other garden tools within the yard that we didn't expect. Perhaps they are just getting ready for spring gardening, but I would have expected a cleaner yard than what it was. I picked up a few things just to tidy up. Overall, if the yard was clean and the cobwebs removed, it would have been a five star experience. The bed was definitely five star quality and it was so quiet at night for sleeping, we didn't even realize when we got up early the morning to leave that it was a down pour of rain outside. That was great. I would definitely recommend this property if it were a bit cleaner (cobwebs and yard picked up). I can not comment on the hot tub as we did not use it.
