Get away for the whole family

The home is large enough to accommodate a large family. Great kitchen and access to the beach. Pool was very nice as well as grounds. Dock was large enough for boats and jet skis. Huge kitchen. Toilets were a little slow at flushing, however that was probably due to conservation. We would definitely stay again. Saw a number of turtles hatch on the beach and caught up our tans.

Decent Venue, Poor property Manager

Used this home as a venue for my daughters wedding. The setting was perfect. Wedding on beach and reception pool/bayside. Interior large enough to accommodate quests if necessary Large upper covered area that we hosted rehearsal dinner was great. Would recommend renting with a few words of advice. Toilets were not working when we arrived and never did function properly (none of them). Had to be continually fixed by one of our family members. Appliances in kitchen not adequate. Fridge small and not very cold. Oven did not work, which we also had to fix to use. Caterers there-no stove. Also had to have cleaning service come back in. The largest problem with the property was the realtor/broker. He suddenly became absent once contract signed and money paid. Did not return calls, emails, text or messages. I was always told he was not in town by his office. (For months). Was promised pool deck would be cleaned, and lighting would be fixed before we got there. It was not. Had to have handyman there among us the entire time. Pool deck never cleaned. We paid a very large venue fee and cleaning fee and was hit for a bill at the end for extra charges like washing dirty towels and garbage disposal. We inquired about disposing of garbage and was told to leave it in garage by broker office. Then we were charged for it. Requested a walk-through at the end of our rental and they would not accommodate-he was out of town. Secretary of broker left to deal with everything and although she was avery nice her standard statement was, "I'm not licensed-can't help you". Had to "push" to get LARGE security deposit back in contract timeline, and then would not return calls to discuss charges deducted. Potential great venue but needs to have new broker and some common facility problems addressed. House has some age, but has some great positives like location and is very eccentric. Needs some major upkeep-Please be cautious of Rental Company of Venice/Tim Lacy. Do not recommend!!! We were left to our own devices to fix/maintain and clean property. Handyman was great that was sent, but we shouldn't have had to deal with that our entire visit.

Owner's Response: This response is inaccurate and is based on the traveler NOT receiving her full deposit returned to her. They damaged the $5 million dollar estate they rented, there was vomit in the bedroom, holes dug in the lawn, a 2 car garage full of trash, etc.
I wouldn't rent, nor suggest any other HomeAway owner to rent to this person in the future.
THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE POSTED AS IT IS DUE TO A DEPOSIT DISPUTE.
I am happy to provide the paperwork related to the full deposit not being returned.
