Perched on a high cliff near the historical town of Fuscaldo, in Calabria, Villa Mediterraneo is a luxury 7 bedroom 6 bathroom villa with a breathtaking seaview, a private pool and a 2,000 sqm garden shaded by mature olive trees.
The villa is built on 3 floors with total floor area exceeding 400 sqm.
On the ground floor, it boasts a kitchen in modern Italian style, a beautiful fireplace, a spacious living room with view on the garden, 4 bedrooms (for a total of 2 queen size beds and 4 single beds) and 3 bathrooms.
On the first floor, the villa has 3 bedrooms (for a total of 1 king size bed and 3 single beds) and 2 bathrooms (one ensuite), is furnished with a contemporary style kitchen/sitting room combination and offers a spectacular view on the sea.
The second floor, with a floor area of approximately 80 sqm offers a large living room (with 2 sofabeds) and a bathroom.
Villa Mediterraneo is decorated with elegant Italian style furniture, is fully air conditioned and offers state of the art connectivity and entertainment facilities (free WIFI, 2 flat screen TVs with access to major international TV networks and a kids playing room with an overhead TV projector, a game console and a table tennis set). The large table on the ground floor living room can also be converted into a 1.5x3.0m billiard by reversing the deck.
The magnificent 2,000 sqm garden, shaded by century old olive oil trees, boasts a 6mx12m pool with Jacuzzi system, a large wooden floor area and an amazing outdoor furniture set (dinner table, sofas, tanning sofas). For BBQ and pizza lovers, the garden is also equipped with a large outdoor Italian style oven.
We enjoyed our stay at the villa. We went sightseeing most of the times or at the beach, and it was a pleasure to go back to the villa and enjoy a relaxing dinner on the pool side.

Fuscaldo is a picturesque Calabrian town situated on a cliff 350m over the sea level, which dates back to the Magna Grecia era (7th century BC), when the Greek started colonization of Southern Italy.
As a result of its prominent position over one of the few inland transport links between the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian sea, Fuscaldo was one of the most important regional centres in ancient times and has remained a key trading and political hub since the Roman era.

Luigiane Spa is one of the oldest Spa centers in Italy. They are located in Guardia, a town which was part of Fuscaldo jurisdiction in the Roman times. Plinio the Elder, a Roman philosopher who died in 79 AD, was the first to mention the fame of the curative powers of the Spa.
The Luigiane Spa Wellness Center today offers state of the art facilities including Spa center, Hydromassage center and fisiochinesi therapy and a large thermal pool.

Convento di San Francesco

Francesco da Paola has been a key religious figure in Calabrian history. He died in 1507 and was canonized in 1519, and later nominated the saint patron of the Calabrian region by Pope John XXIII in 1963. He was the founder of the Roman Catholic Order of Minims.
His legacy and history of his life are still preserved as of today in a large monastery in Paola which he founded with the help of the local religious community.
