WE had the pleasure of staying here! The description is everything and more. Two families were very comfortable with room to spare. The adults each had a room and the children (4) shared rooms. The house was just perfect with a large table for meals. A large living room was comfortable to have evening chats while the kids went off to play games. The views are simply breathtaking. I was up early every morning just to watch the sunrise on the deck. The sunsets were that and even more. And the night sky you felt you could reach up and touch. We loved the location as it was half way between Portland and Bar Harbor. We will definitely visit again.

Beautiful Home, Wonderful Views, Perfect Maine Adventure

  • 5 of 5
This was our first trip to Maine and we could not have asked for more. The views from the home were stunning and we felt at peace and rested there. Everything we needed was there and the kitchen is a delight. The property is well maintained and the photos are spot on with the home's furnishings and views.

The owner suggested many nearby activities which kept us busy and helped us make the best use of our time in Maine. Rockland and Camden are a close drive offering many shops and restaurants. So much to see and do, so little time.

We hope to return and will definitely want to stay here, the home and the owner do not disappoint.

Gorgeous house, spectacular location!

Gorgeous house, spectacular location

We loved our week in Maine, and it was due in no small part to this gorgeous home. Super clean, well appointed and the location was perfect.

5 minutes from a fresh water lake (we swam everyday) and ten minutes from Rockland harbor, and 20 minutes to Camden, we could not have asked for more.

Some huge benefits to the house, amazing view, great deck for outside living, big comfy beds, huge clean bathrooms, and for our family, a super well appointed kitchen. We cooked at home about half of the meals and everything we needed to cook and entertain was right there. Great big grill on the deck didn't hurt either.

Only down side was intermittent cell, so be prepared to be off the cell grid, so to speak, and just enjoy the down time.

Wonderful all-family vacation

  • 5 of 5
We had eight adults and one baby filling the house and we all really enjoyed a wonderful week. Everything worked well and was excellent quality. The home itself is very beautiful and the views are spectacular. It is very quiet and peaceful. The description was complete and the photos give an accurate impression of the home. It was really nice not to have ugly, utilitarian furnishings. This home is filled with things you would actually like to live with.

Rockland is a great place to stay for a week's vacation in Maine -- lots of cultural as well as natural attractions. Enjoy!

Returning To Another World

  • 5 of 5
Once again as I get out of the car and turn to walk up the path leading to the door of Sunrise Summit, I feel that familiar shift in my spirit. It is as if invisible hands are lifting from my shoulders the weighty cloak of my everyday life and freeing me to experience the rich, restorative wonders that await me here. It is the classic welcome I remember and it brings a smile to my face and to my heart.

The grounds in early Autumn are looking beautiful, lush from a Summer's worth of attentive care from Mother Nature and the helping hand of creative gardener-owner, Jeanette Phillipps. Inside, and immediately greeting me is the warming sight of fresh flowers and pots of thriving plants indluding wonderful herbs for the kitchen. An architecturally stunning interior unfolds everywhere I look, filled with art and textiles from around the world, including many striking works by the owner who is a fine-art photographer as well. And each window gives sneak previews of nature's ever-changing gifts for my eyes.

I am here to add more images to my fine-art portfolio and know my camera will be well-fed. With so many art galleries, the waterfront, wonderful restaurants and shops all so nearby plus the fun of driving through gorgeous winding back roads, I know I will be well-nourished by my week on Sunrise Summit too!

The memory of great past times spent here have drawn me back for more. I have been here in Spring, Summer, and now Autumn. At this visit's end, I am once more amazed at the newness and fullness of this experience! And it leaves me pondering just how a Winter stay will feel.
