This house was amazing!! We were a party of about 13, incliding 5 children. We had plenty of room for everyone. Even though it rained most of the week, we enjoyrd the indoor activities at the house. The house is nice and sucluded but close to lots of activities.
We enjoyed camp fires, kayaking, canoing, hiking antiquing, and so much more.

Fantastic Week

We stayed here for a week and could not have been happier. The house is beautiful, clean, and felt just like home. We fished, kayaked, canoed, and swam; the lake was simply heaven. In fact, the only criticism I have is that the house was so wonderful that it made it hard to leave and explore Acadia. We did manage to visit Acadia and Bar Harbor, and get back for a nightly fire by the fire pit. Thank you so much to Marilyn and Arthur for helping to make our stay a wonderful experience that will give us a lifetime of memories.

After a 15 Hr drive from New Jersey with traffic and six kids this was just what the doctor ordered. We arrived late at nite and found this abolutely wonderful cozy home. It rained alot while we were there but it did not matter the kids were never bored. We took advantage of all the great things. We kayaked in the early mornings, the kids fished and swam. they played basketball and sat around the bonfire roasted marshmellows. Bar Harbor and Acadia were really nice. We went sailing on The Margaret Todd a little chilly but beautiful we even saw a few porpoise. If I must say this is the perfect place to stay. It was very spacious and clean. We were so comfortable and relaxing it was hard to leave. Marilyn and Arthur were very gracious and kind, they made our stay even nicer. The loons were so beautiful to see and to hear. We are definitly looking forward to coming back.

Owner's Response: I keep telling myself that I am glad I found this new adventure. All my guests have been very nice and complimentary. The hard work and time is paying off when I hear how much fun they have had and how clean the home is. Talking with Michele and her family was good for us too. Next time Michele we definately need to come out for the Italian night. See you next year.

Out to Camp is Out of this World!

My name is Jillian and my entire family spent a week on Upper Patten Pond in early July. There were 7 adults - my parents, me and my sisters, and two of our partners. We used to go camping in Acadia when we were little (we're from Mass), so Out to Camp seemed like a natural fit, and we were so excited to get back to Maine wilderness.

The listing does not do this rental justice! The home is gorgeous, plenty of beds with an open layout in the kitchen/living area. Everything was clean and well-stocked. What we really underestimated was the views - pictures on the website cannot depict how breathtakingly beautiful the "pond" (feels like a good sized lake!) is, surrounded by dense green forest, water glistening in sun and moonlight, loons calling, amazing!

There was so much to do at the house - we canoed and kayaked, walked and swam with the dogs, barbequed, read books on the sunny deck, had a bonfire, did some puzzling, tried blueberry beer, watched the women's World Cup - it became an effort just to get ourselves to leave! We did manage a couple of days in Acadia, about a 40 minute drive, which was perfect, and where there are many dog-friendly trails. We also took advantage of some of the wonderful antiquing available in Ellsworth. And of course, the draw of the lobster dinner is always enough to get us moving - Carrier's Mainely Lobster was our favorite, and a recommendation of the property manager (who is absolutely lovely), Marilyn.

I cannot recommend this vacation destination highly enough. Marilyn was a pleasure to work with and our whole process was smooth sailing. This is an incredible, secluded little piece of heaven in Maine that remains close to several destinations. We cannot stop talking about how fantastic the week was. This trip will go down in family lore as one of our very best.

Owner's Response: I know the owners will be very pleased that your vacation was so incredible. It was a pleasure to work with you and meet you and your family. It is nice to know that others are getting such enjoyment out of the home. If ever you are in the need to take another vacation in Maine, please look me up. Have a great ending to your summer.

Upper Patten Pond is heaven in itself. There are, however, shops, restaurants, mini golfing and lots more heading towards the Ellsworth, Bar Harbor region. Going inland towards Bucksport, Belfast and Searsport you have even more shops, restaurants, antiques, and the new Penobscot Narrows Observatory. Stay at the house and enjoy the calm, peacefulness, swimming, loons, ducks and eagles. The house is well equipped for everyone in the family, wireless internet and satellite TV, game room and stone fireplace in the grandroom for those cool Maine nights. If you prefer a fire outside, the fire pit is a great way to watch for shooting stars or get your fill with samoas. Inside or out you will be right at home.
