YACHATS RIVER RETREAT W/HOT TUB, WIFI

Yachats Studio Rental Photos and Description

Studio, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

RiverSpace is a large, bright private room at one end of a country house. Surrounded by 16 acres of forest and meadow on a quiet country road, this is an ideal location for anyone who wants distraction-free time to write, study, meditate or just get away from it all. Although the ocean is only ten miles away, this is a different climate zone--often sunny and warm when the beach isn't! Some guests see RiverSpace as a sanctuary, a chance to sink into the natural world, where the only sound is the murmur of the river, the only lights come from the stars overhead, and the air is full of the rejuvenating scent of fir and cedar. RiverSpace lends itself to quiet and solitude but it is also a great place from which to access all the sight-seeing and recreational opportunities of the central Oregon coast. After an active day, you come 'home' to a warm cozy room and oh yes, a hot tub from which to gaze at the moon! It's also a Good Deal: there are no extra charges (except for pets), no cleaning fee, and no taxes!

I have lived in the Yachats area for 20 years, in Oregon since 1969. Most recently i have been the marketing director for the town of Yachats, but am about to return to my first love, writing. I love this area because of the easy access to nature and I have hiked all of the trails and many of the forest roads in the area.

Andrea purchased this studio in 1999

This is my personal residence. I have chosen to make the master bedroom available as a vacation rental, with a separate entrance and no access from the rest of the house. Like the rest of the property, it provides a quiet retreat in a beautiful setting, nestled in the trees but still close to the beach, the little town of Yachats, and great hiking trails. Many of my guests tell me this is a 'sanctuary' where they find tranquility and restoration of mind, spirit, and body.

Privacy; peace and quiet; natural beauty; wildlife viewing (elk frequently roam across the meadows); places to walk along the river, up on the ridge, or along the country road; easy access to the beach, local shops and restaurants, and various tourist attractions such as the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. After an active day on the beach, you return to a cozy room and a rejuvenating hot tub.

AMAZING STAY AND GREAT HOST!

  • 4 of 5
Wonderful stay and the best host. Peaceful cottage 15 minutes from Yachats in a great woodsy location. Wonderful amenities such as the relaxing hot tub and a great room with plenty of relaxation and a kitchenette, all nicely located on a serene river. Andrea is a great host with good recommendations for hiking, dining and whatever else you want to explore in Yachats!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the positive review! Sy (my dog) and I enjoyed your stay as well. He had a great time romping with your well-behaved, happy dogs! Part of what I like about my rental unit is meeting nice people and being able to let them know about all the terrific things there are to do in this area. Of course, if what they want is peace and quiet and privacy--they get that too!

PERFECT RELAXED WEEKEND

  • 5 of 5
We loved our stay. We went for a relaxing girls weekend and this is the perfect place for it. The surroundings were beautiful. It rained a lot but it was nice listening to the rain through the trees. The room is large and very open, with lots of windows. We loved it. Andrea is very friendly and happy to help with any questions you have but is careful to give you privacy. Sy is sooo sweet, we loved him. My only complaint is we didn't get to stay longer. We'll have to stay longer next time. I have already recommended it to my parents for their next trip. And plan to come back again.

Owner's Response: Once again, I am so pleased to hear that my guests loved staying here! It was indeed a rainy weekend and I'm glad that didn't spoil things for the "girls getaway." There are plenty of things to do when it rains (eat, shop, visit the Aquarium or Sea Lion Caves) but if you just want to kick back and relax, RiverSpace is a great place to do it!

THE PERFECT PLACE FOR PRIVACY AND RELAXING!

  • 5 of 5
This was the perfect retreat for unwinding and relaxing with our two dogs. They were made to feel very welcome as well! The space is huge, pictures do not do it justice, it is light, bright, airy, and woodsy. We really enjoyed coming back to a quiet and private space after a long day of hiking and playing on the beaches and being able to relax in the hot tub. The drive is about fifteen minutes from town, but it's beautiful and right along the river. I would highly recommend this space for anyone looking for a quiet and homey place to relax.

SECLUDED AND PEACEFUL PROPERTY

  • 5 of 5
This was a wonderful pick for a weekend getaway for myself, my boyfriend and my dog! Andrea was always very responsive starting with our initial inquiry, and was fast to answer questions leading up to the trip.

We were debating between a few different coastal towns, and chose Yachats because we had never been there before, and because this property seemed to fit our criteria (dog-friendly, easy location, fair and affordable price, serene). The property absolutely exceeded our expectations. My dog loved watching the nature right outside our window. We loved soaking in the hot tub to start and end the days, with just the noise of the river close by. Andrea was an amazing host, and her dog Sy was great for my dog to play with (well, my dog was distracted by all the nature around us for the most part, but Sy was very understanding) :-)

All in all, we both fell in love with the town of Yachats, and were so happy that we chose to stay at RiverSpace. It is peaceful, quiet, has all the amenities we wanted, and Andrea went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Fun things we did included eating at the Drift Inn (their calamari is amazing!), hiking at Perpetua and Hobbit Trail, and wandering around town. We highly recommend this property, and checking out Yachats! We will be back - there is still more to see and do - and we will stay here again.

AWESOMELY SERENE AND COMFORTING

  • 5 of 5
I had a wonderful personal time at this lovely space in the coastal woods. The house is very well appointed and welcoming. It is a perfect place for a quiet get away. The coast is conveniently near for day trips. The owner is very courteous and helpful. She is also very respectful of the privacy and wishes of the guest. Her dog is a very courtly gentleman. I am looking forward to coming back for some of the best coastal weather in winter at the Oregon Coast.

PERFECT RETREAT FOR A COUPLE

  • 5 of 5
The room and location are beautiful. The price was not too bad either. The landlady was gracious and made us and our dog feel at home. Will go back when we have a chance.

Owner's Response: This has been a great summer, with lots of wonderful guests and wonderful dogs! My dog and i have both enjoyed meeting our guests, human and canine. Really appreciate the positive review--and happy that people have had such a good time here, using RiverSpace as 'headquarters' for exploring the beautiful central Oregon coast area.

Map

The central Oregon coast features great choices for activities, from fine dining to mountain biking, shopping to kayaking. The beach is just 15 minutes from the property and many other attractions are just another 10 or 15 minutes away--all along very scenic drives. The Cape Perpetua National Scenic Area offers miles of trails through coastal forests, tidepooling, spectacular views, and an interpretive center full of information (and helpful guides) about this area. There are three lighthouses within a 45 minute drive of the property. Alsea Bay to the north offers fishing, crabbing, clamming, and kayaking--and equipment rentals to support each activity. The bay is a designated Significant Birding Area where you can see eagles, herons, many species of ducks, etc. In the fall, Yachats features the annual Mushroom Festival--or you can just go foraging through the woods to identify and collect an incredible variety of fungi. RiverSpace is on a forest road that connects to a network of gravel roads that are perfect for mountain bikes. The Pacific Ocean is just 15 minutes away, with long sandy stretches of beach and also trails along rocky bluffs where you can see 'spouting horns' of ocean spray--and out to sea you can spot actual whale spouts as the huge marine mammals pursue their annual migrations between Mexico and Alaska. Many guests plan day trips--north takes you to Newport's Aquarium and the Hatfield Marine Center, plus lots of fun restaurants and shops. South takes you to Florence and the remarkable sand dunes, plus more shops and restaurants. And Yachats itself offers plenty of opportunities for shopping and dining--unique businesses where the owner is usually on hand to give you personal attention.
