Perfect for a couple's getaway! Direct access to the beach (90 stairs). Hot tub is glass enclosed and overlooks sand and surf.
Tide pools for exploring and a perfect perch for whale watching. There is also Bald Eagle in flight around the houses in this great area. Watch the surfers on the great Nelscot Wave.
Kitchenette and flat screen. Cozy up with the gas fireplace. The Anchor is part of the older Historic Anchor that was a World WarII lookout for u-boats.
Peaceful and a view. You couldn't ask for a cuter little get away. This studio has everything you need for a vacation. Including a private hot tub with a view of the ocean. We will be back for sure. Anyone who books this will not be disappointed.
From the moment we entered the Anchor to the moment we left - the stress of life was gone. My husband and I went out for meals, which was lovely, but other than that, we stayed in by the fire and watched movies (that we brought with us), sat on the chairs enjoying the expansive view with a book, or in the hot tub with great conversation. We plan to come again and enjoy this gem of a spot for more than only two nights - its simply not enough! The Anchor was nicely appointed with what you'd want on a romantic get-away: a corkscrew/wine glasses, coffee maker/mugs, and dvd player/TV. The bed is very comfortable - I slept like a baby. The view is out-of-this-world, and its very, very clean. Privacy, privacy, privacy - and awesome beach access. Couldn't ask for more. THANK YOU!!
It pains me to gush about this place because my preference is that it stay a "secret gem" but to be honest it was Exactly as described and super clean. Studio Suite, Tastefully decorated, Quiet, Restful.
Pack a good book, pick up some extra take out and there won't be any reason to leave - everything needed for a restful couple of days is all there.
I stayed at the property for 3 days for my birthday with my boyfriend. The studio was lovely with breathtaking views. The torturous walk down the stairs was an experience, with near private beach access. The Jacuzzi was spacious for two, hot, and had amazing views of its own. The fireplace warmed our hearts. This room added to the perfect romantic getaway and I would recommend it to any couple.
I rented "The Anchor" for 3 nights and it was just what the DR ordered. Peaceful, cute, loads of light, super cozy, VERY CLEAN, and he oceanfront view is overwhelmingly beautiful! This is a perfect get-away for one person or a couple.
I personally loved the stairs down to the beach, mind you, if you have health issues or trouble walking, this is not the place as you will be going down/up a very steep incline. Thus said, I loved the stairs to the beach – there are a couple of benches to rest upon if needed, going up there stairs, or, you could do like I did and grab a glass of wine, a good book, and recline on the bottom bench of the stairs….enjoy the sun and ocean waves- it was so great. It’s a beautiful spot on the beach, lots to explore at low tide, and gothic’ly romantic at high tide with the crashing waves, rocks & cliffs. Although I was there during one of the busiest times of the year, there were no crowds in this particular area- so it felt very private.
The hot tub was wonderful and set up so that you have privacy and your own key to access the gate/tub. VERY CLEAN. The other unit in this house was rented out at the same time, to a party of 4, but it’s set up so that each place has their own hot tub, deck - and although I was staying alone, I was not in the least uncomfortable sitting out on The Anchor’s private balcony/deck, using the hot tub, or heading down to the beach via the house’ common use stair access.
The owner’s were easy going and great to deal with to deal with and as far as value for your buck is concerned…this is the place. While most other’s you’ll find in the area and along the coast are doubled in price that are directly on the beach w/hot tub….The Anchor is affordable, clean, cozy, and cute as can be. I highly recommend this this place and in the words of the governor of California…. “Ah’ll be bawk”.
I loved the fact that this studio had its own hot tub, and the wood interior felt very cozy. It was impeccably clean, and the ocean view is amazing. The biggest drawback is that the studio is part of a large house. There was a family staying in the other unit, so we really didn't have much privacy, as we could hear kids running around and didn't really feel comfortable leaving the curtains open to enjoy the ocean view. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but I felt like the studio was advertised as a private place that would be perfect place for couples. The other inconvenience was the lack of an oven or stovetop. Overall, we did enjoy our stay, and would recommend this place to others.
Famous Nelscott reef that makes the only Big Wave Surfing on the Oregon Coast is directly in front of the Anchor. You can see the reef and enjoy occasional surfers and of course the big yearly world surf competition from the Anchor deck , hot tub and inside.
