My husband & I enjoyed our 4th Anniversary at this location and we absolutely loved it! This location is 20 minutes or less to some great attractions in Dallas: The Cowboys Stadium, Southfork Ranch, Reunion Towers, Dallas World Aquarium, the 6th Floor Museum and the list goes on. There is a whole food market, a Tom Thumb grocery store and a host of fast food restaurants within walking distance of the condo. The condos have great curb appeal; they are gated with good parking. We felt very comfortable, safe and at home. I loved that there was leather furniture in the great room. We had permission to bring our 2 small dogs but that didn't work out for us. We had a downstairs unit that had an excellent little fenced in area for the dogs to go out and relieve themselves. We met a resident who was very friendly. The bed was very comfortable. We did our laundry in the nice front load washer & dryer before we left. If ever we revisit Dallas, I would gladly stay there again!!!!!
From the booking process through the return of my deposit, the management was responsive and accommodating. The property is gated and well maintained with an oasis-like pool and spa and seasonal flowers. The unit was a nice size with granite and hardwoods everywhere except the bedrooms. It had pots and pans and linens and tv with cable and wireless internet. The location near Lovers Lane and 75 was perfect. I could be either in downtown Dallas or Plano within 10 minutes; I walked to the Central Market almost every day and even walked to a neighborhood pub.
I read all the reviews prior to booking - I see why most people love it, and I think the one bad review must have had ridiculous standards (it's not a hotel, people), although the management treated me like I was a vip guest. I plan on coming back every year at this time.
I was hesitant to book because I was afraid I'd show up and the place wouldn't be there or would look nice in pictures but be a disaster. The property is really nice with palm trees and a great pool area, outdoor dining areas and pretty grass and flowers. My unit was really nice, with hardwood floors and granite countertops. The furniture was simple, but functional. There were cups, glasses, pots and pans, silverware, etc. I was able to get take out from nearby restaurants and the awesome Central Market, and bring it home regularly and enjoy eating in the condo. The manager was very helpful when I had a couple of special needs and he even let me borrow something that didn't come with the condo, but because he lived there, he had what I was looking for. The process for booking was really easy - all online, and the entry procedures were also easy - I was given a gate code and a code to a lockbox on my unit so I could check myself in when I got there. For the price, this place is perfect. I'm a frequent business traveler and will definitely return on a regular basis.
I selected this property based on the positive reviews and I agree in some ways. Pros: the owner was responsive, reasonable price, fairly safe area and great proximity to Central Market-fabulous. The washer and dryer were convenient. However, for 9 days we experienced these "Cons": the unit has very poor construction--we had to listen to the clomp clomp clomping of the tenants above us all night. We could hear the washing machine at 10:30 pm. Every piece of kitchen equipment is cheap and some are falling apart. The beds are horrible and I didn't have one good night's sleep...the sheets are old and the mattress was soft, old, dirty and had a huge rip in it like it was taken out of a dumpster. The sheets and towels are worn out, shredded and faded, like they came from a thrift store. No windows to open for fresh air. No privacy as the only windows face the walkway where everyone can look inside. The fireplace is unusable as far as I could assertain. The back yard patio is non-existant--small, no grass or plants...just 2 large aircon units. I would not recommend this embarrassingly poor quality lodging to anyone. We couldn't wait to leave. The owner should feel ashamed at the poor quality kitchen items, beds, sheets and towels and upgrade/replace them immediately.
We were in town for a wedding and dreading the idea of trying to manage naps/bedtimes for a 3 yr old and a newborn in a hotel room.
We had never tried the vrbo route, and after our stay, we couldn't be more pleased with the results. This far exceeds anything you could find for a comparably priced hotel room.
Just as a comparison, the "deal" the wedding party got for rooms downtown were $110 a night for a 450 sqft room plus $20 a day to park plus $15 a day for wifi. Add to that the joys of people running up and down the halls and the sound of doors opening and closing all night.
At the condo? Complete quiet. I never heard our neighbors. This also happened to be the weekend before classes started at SMU so you’d think if it was going to be a party place that would be the time. Nope, not a peep. Two bedrooms for naps and bedtime and a wide open living room for my wife and me after the kids are in bed as opposed to sitting quietly in the dark if we stayed in a hotel.
There were plenty of dishes, utensils, and cookware in our condo. Actually, if I had a suggestion it would be to replace the glass plates and glasses with plastic.
Jeff was great and responded to my questions immediately. We picked up before we left (i.e. took out the trash, started the dishwasher) and had no problem getting our full deposit back.
If you are traveling with just adults or older kids then this place is perfect. If you have small children know that it is in no way child proofed. This is not a complaint just be aware that there are breakable items that you will probably want to move, and, at least in our condo, the television isn’t mounted but on a stand.
We couldn’t be happier with our stay, and if we are in Dallas again this is where we will be. If our next vrbo experience goes as well I may never stay in another hotel room.
We stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks end of sept start of october 2011 and I couldn't have been happier. From organising our stay through to getting the deposit back the process was seamless. I was a little nervous to hand over all the cash for the whole trip on the basis of an internet viewing alone before we arrived, but the gamble paid off. We had some problems with the internet and cable TV but the owners were right there and when it couldn't be sorted there and then they gave us their internet connection until they could fix it. The accommodation itself was excellent, the location brilliant, and if I go back to Dallas I'll stay with them in a heart beat. We were 5 adults and one baby, and if there was one slight downside it was that the apartment was first floor so getting the stroller up and down was a bit tricky, but they did offer us a ground floor, wasn't a big enough problem to move for! Thanks for a great stay.
