We have the best views and direct access just steps to the beach. We are on the front of the dune with the beach a stone throw away and the front deck looks directly down on shore. We have the best reviews ever - check them out. Newly built with a large covered deck 180 degree uninterrupted view of the beach directly in front and Pass and Gulf; front room overlooks the broad and beautiful San Luis Pass and the kitchen and dining areas overlook the Gulf. An entire bank of windows in the kitchen provides great views of sunrise over the Gulf while preparing breakfast.
Kayaks can be launched directly in front or across the way in the back bay. The far side of the bay is a huge birding and wildlife park that can be boated or kayak/canoe accessed. San Luis Pass and the bay here are known for their championship fishing.
Extensive beaches for shelling and walking and volleyball. Really blue clear water is often coming into the pass from the Gulf and we have some of the best water quality around.
Wonderful breezes blow all summer long. Great view of sunrise over Gulf and a view of the sunset over the back bay. All bedrooms have stone countertops with large vessel glass sinks in the room. Granite countertops throughout kitchen and bar area. Enjoy dinner on the deck looking out on the beaches and lights across the pass. Stone floors throughout entire house with intricate ''rug'' stonework. Great birding route with lots of pelicans, herons, and shorebirds. Beach has limited access to cars and is in process of becoming a pedestrian beach for shell collecting and kids play areas. House has ramp and stair access. Three flat screen TVs with satellite/HDTV living room. Quality kitchenware, linens, towels, etc.

Blake is an exploration geologist with the 7th largest oil company (no not BP) and Diane is a Speech Pathologist. We have two girls at University (one at St Edwards and one at U. of Montana Missoula). Diane specializes in adopting special need greyhounds.

The ends of barrier islands are great places for fish, birds, and beautiful sand dunes. The far away lights across the pass are beautiful at night and provide a view that other areas do not have at night. We built within a community but it is quiet because we have no immediate neighbors.
The Unique Benefits of this House: This house is in a quiet family area. It is the last house on a dead end road that stops at the beach and we have a couple of empty lots one either side of the house so no one needs to listen to neighbors. The beach has limited access so there are never lots of people on the beach. Sunrise comes up across the Gulf and is a beautiful sight from the kitchen, dining room, and front porch. Patches of yellow and orange flowers cover dunes around the house.

Thank you so much for allowing me to rent your beach house. It was everything you said it was and so much more. Perfect location for fishing, shelling, rock climbing, building sand castles and just plain relaxing. I had the chance to see things that I had only dreamed of seeing at the beach. Gathered more shells than I thought I would find in a life time. I wish this was my beach house, I would be there all my off time. I would like to rent again after the summer is done.
This trip was everything we could have asked for and more! I was a little bit nervous as we drove through the heart of Galveston and saw seaweed covered beaches and inebriated crowds. As soon as I saw the house and seaweed free beach that is 30 yards away, I knew we had made a fantastic decision!
Gorgeous, gorgeous home. We particularly loved the private sinks and toilets for each room, because it meant our teenage daughters weren't monopolizing our restroom or shower space. The bedroom televisions also allowed us to avoid our 21 year old son's nightly horror movie selection.
Our family of 6 (plus our german shepherd so 7!) had perfect days strolling the beach looking for shells and kayaking. My husband also had great success fishing by the bridge (I enjoyed the wrap around deck during fishing time)! It was a perfect combination of family activities during the day, and having total privacy in our own little suites at night.
We cooked about half of our meals, which was a breeze because the kitchen is better stocked than my kitchen at home (great job Diane!) and expansive beachfront views make doing dishes enjoyable. We ate out at several Surfside restaurants that are only 15-20 minutes away, where the food is actually quite good!
Blake and Diane are fabulous. They really cared about us enjoying our stay and wanted to make sure we had every thing we could possibly think of. By far the best experience I have had with owners, a vacation home, and a beach vacation! Everything was just so easy and relaxed, which was exactly what we were looking for. We are already emailing about coming back in the Fall!

I have NEVER had to make up all beds in a rental property upon arrival. Putting sheets on all the beds is not fun after a long drive. The property is clean, but I gather that is because the owners' check-out requirements are EXTENSIVE to get your deposit back. This property is very isolated. Be prepared to drive into Galveston (across a $2 toll bridge) for everything.
We had a wonderful time with our kids and grandkids!! Plenty of room in this beautiful home for 6 adults and five grandchildren ages ranging from 13 to 21 months and two small dogs!! Loved the porch and views! Saw several dolphins!! We were able to find lots of pretty shells and a whole sand dollar. The owners were very easy to work with and very prompt about answering our emails! Our Granddaughter left a favorite stuffed animal and they found it and mailed it to we just have a couple of recommendations....we wished the area under the house was finished out with concrete. We have stayed at several homes in Galveston and they all had the concrete with enclosed outdoor shower. Even though there was a shower downstairs at this house, it was not very effective since you didn't have a clean surface to step on. We always liked bathing the grandkids in the outdoor showers before heading to the house at the previous houses we have stayed. We made it work here by just using the water hose on the porch.
Another suggestion would be to build a bridge over the rocks in front of the house to make it easier to get to the beach right in front of the house. I had a broken ankle and we had to rent a golf cart for my family to get me there. Even with these suggestions I gave a 5 star because we had a wonderful time!!
The home is very nice and well cared for. However, the mosquitos are so bad that it is impossible to sit or be outside on the deck unless there is a substantial breeze. The location of the house makes it somewhat worse than others. Also the seaweed in Galveston this year has been overwhelmingly plentiful and really made trip to beach marginal. So caution - this would be good place to rent, if the wind is up and seaweed down. Best to consider for a spur of the moment booking
We just returned this past w'end from our girls trip at this spectacular place. It is beyond words! Hosts/owners, are the greatest to work with. Met every need. The house...the house is exceptional. They've thought of every detail. House is furnished with everyone in mind. We've been going to tx beaches for the past 5 yrs and this was the best beach for searching for shells. Even found the perfect sand dollar! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants peaceful walks on the beach, beautiful home to relax, and a great deck to watch the waves. We will be back! I think we've found our perfect beach home to rent!
Just the best beach on a barrier island where the clear offshore waters coming into the pass create a setting for some of the best fishing, crabbing, shelling, and bird watching along this coast. Romantic unobstructed view of the lights (west end of Galveston Is) sparkling across the waters of the wide pass at night can be enjoyed from the spacious covered front deck. In the morning there is a spectacular view of the sun rising from the horizon across the Gulf. Sunsets over the bay can be viewed from the back deck. Pelicans flying in long lines are commonplace and come just off the deck. They dive for fish off the front deck. Its a short and beautiful drive along the barrier island to Galveston where there are the many restaurants and sights and activities. From the west side of Treasure Island, one can walk for 20 miles of unobstructed sandy Gulf beach. We have beach volleyballs, but also bring your kite.
