On a cherry-tree lined street, situated in Point Grey near Kitsilano, this welcoming one-bedroom suite offers mountain views from its generous, private patio. The suite features double french doors which open onto beautifully maintained landscaping, and provide tons of light to this bright, airy space. The design is contemporary and open-concept, with excellent flow from one room to the next. Guests have their own entrance and alarm system, and a perfect sense of autonomy.

The suite is meticulously clean and finished to the highest standards, including a queen-sized bed, large closets, an en-suite bathroom with tiled walk-in shower, flat screen cable HD TV, wireless internet, queen-sized pull-out sectional sofa, elegant dining room and fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances (gas range, dishwasher, microwave, etc).where you can prepare your own gourmet meal and pick fresh herbs from the garden in season. We keep a good selection of herbs and oils on hand for your use, and we provide cereal and milk, coffee and cream and some excellent cookies for your arrival.

Best of all is the location: the suite is a block from several charming shops and cafes on West 10th Avenue, and two blocks from the eclectic district of Kitsilano. The beach and Jericho Park are seven blocks away, and the nearby walk along Spanish Banks offers some of the most beautiful mountain and sea and city landscapes in Vancouver. One block from the B-Line bus stop at 10th + Alma, one of the most important transit hubs, and the access point for high-speed buses to UBC in one direction (in under 10 minutes), and downtown Vancouver in the other. The suite is a block from several charming shops and cafes on West 10th Avenue, and two blocks from the eclectic district of Kitsilano. The beach and Jericho Park are seven blocks away, and the nearby walk along the beach to Spanish Banks is one of the most beautiful in Vancouver.

There is lots of street parking right out front and a bounty of shopping and great restaurants within walking distance, in several directions. This quiet suite offers the perfect home away from home for those visiting the University or sightseeing in and around Vancouver.

We are a retired couple: Alan worked in Tv and film, and Candace still does background work from time to time because she can't quite give up the acting bug. We are proud parents and grandparents, and we love to garden, golf, play tennis, ski, run and walk, travel and read. We are keen theatre and film-goers, we love entertaining and good food, wine and company!

Candace & Alan purchased this house in 1986

This is the loveliest part of Vancouver, with character homes interspersed with newer modern but aesthetically pleasing houses also. We have a lovely mountain view from the Garden Suite! The gardens are all beautiful and mature trees line the streets. Its close to the beach, to the shops of West 10th Ave Village and Kitsilano, and we can bike to Granville Island, UBC, Bard on the Beach, or along the seawall at Stanley Park.

We are a lovely 10 minute walk from the beach and some of the most beautiful views in the city, 10 minutes from a superb golf course, close to several public tennis courts, close to public transit and downtown - and UBC. We are well served by restaurants and cafes in all directions, with great food stores and theatres quickly accessible. It takes half an hour to reach the slopes of Cypress Mountain in the winter for skiing and in the summer for the amazing views and hiking - and the other mountains are just a little further. Whistler is now a mere 11/2 hour drive. You can reach the ferries in 45 minutes and the Vancouver Island and smaller islands make wonderful one-day get-aways.

VERY NICE NEIGHBOURHOOD, CLOSE TO UBC; EXCELLENT HOSTS

My son and I were in Vancouver to check out UBC. We spent four days here and enjoyed the place immensely. We were able to get to and from UBC with no issue. We were also within easy reach of downtown and its attractions. Both Alan and Candace were attentive, friendly and flexible. Within walking distance to excellent restaurants on 4th and on 10th. We had parking for our compact car in the back. One could also take advantage of public transportation. This is a comfortable spot for a small family or a couple. I plan to bring my wife up when we go visit my son at UBC next term.

LOVELY STAY - WOULD RECOMMEND

We had to find (at short notice) an alternative rental for our stay as our previous down-town choice had been sold, and was no longer an option. This turned out to be a happy outcome for us, as we thoroughly enjoyed the Garden Suite, it's location, ih-suite facilities, and local surrounds. The suite is well appointed, great size to spread out and organize yourself, with every amenity you might need. We were encouraged to cook, and use the laundry facilities as needed, and provided with lots of recommendations for eating / shopping. Sadly the rainy weather limited our use of the deck and garden, but none the less the outlook was lovely. The wifi signal was great, and used extensively to plan our daily walks and trips out, together with keeping in touch with home. Candace and Alan were fantastic from start to finish, a pleasure to do business with. We'd definitely consider staying here again. - Bill and Jan

We had the pleasure of staying in this wonderfully remodeled suite. It is a terrific remodel with complete privacy, great furnishings and artworks and a relaxing deck overlooking a beautiful garden. The property is immaculate. The suite has everything you'll need to make this a home away from home -- including delightful and incredibly helpful hosts who provide first rate hospitality. We truly felt like we were at a "home away from home". Fantastic location near UBC, in fact just a short walk to the main bus line. Walking distance to cute restaurants and services. Beautiful tree lined streets make evening walks a must. You will love this property!

CHARMING! A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY.

This is a wonderful little suite to call home for a few days. It's beautifully appointed with everything needed to make your stay comfortable. Centrally located for heading out each day - it was convenient to head north to Whistler or south to White Rock.

SWEET SUITE INDEED!

My partner and I have just stayed here for a lovely summer month. The area has a wonderful neighbourhood feel. If you are travelling by bus it is very near the Alma and 10th stop - a crucial node between UBC and buses going downtown. It is in a beautiful residential area within walking distance of Broadway and Jericho Beach. The suite itself is superb: larger than it seems from the photos with stylish shower area, nice bed and a lovely patio & garden. The owners were great hosts: considerate and supportive without being overly obtrusive. If you are looking for a rental of this type, it's perfect!

My wife's and my two week stay was very pleasant indeed! Candace and Alan are very kind and considerate hosts, who went out of their way at every opportunity to make us comfortable. Our "garden suite" was very clean and comfortable, and one of the best-equipped which we have ever encountered. If anything, everything was even better than depicted on the website photos. A beautiful view from our deck, a lovely yard and garden, and even a good selection of toys for our grandchildren to play with when they came to visit. Barbeques and outdoor dining on the sheltered deck. Easy parking, and located in an upscale neighborhood, close to stores, good restaurants, and frequent bus transportation. We would recommend both the suite and our gracious hosts carte blanche, and would return in an instant.

Our reservation policy is 50% of the total stay is payable immediately to make and hold the reservation. This is totally refundable up to a month before your arrival date, 50% refundable up to a week before, and non-refundable thereafter. The remaining 50% plus the cleaning fee is due on arrival.
You can pay by e-mail transfer which is our preferred method, cheque, money order or Pay Pal.
Notes There is a cleaning fee of $50.00 for stays of a week or less, $100.00 for stays of over a week. This is also in lieu of a damage deposit.
