Location Highlights: Completely private and secluded retreat in a delightful environment. This rental is located at the top of a cul-de-sac with spectacular views in all directions, yet it is fifteen minutes from the Cottonwood mall, the largest mall in the ABQ metro area. You can see the majestic Sandia, the Manzano, and Sangre de Cristo mountains! It is 2 miles to the Corrales restaurant/art district.

The property has radiant, baseboard heat during winter months which makes for a very comfortable warmth in winter without the dryness - and air conditioning for the high desert summer months. The shades in the master bedroom can be lowered from the top for privacy, while enjoying the stunning views, or raised from the bottom. The huge outdoor deck has the best views of the city and valley below.

Living Room Highlights: There is a very large living room for entertaining & a well equipped full kitchen. The living room features a 42” screen TV, and the master bedroom has a smaller TV.

Master Bedroom/Bathroom Highlights: The master bedroom is large and bright with a spectacular view from the large bay window and a king size Select Comfort bed; the bathroom has a separate jetted tub and a large shower. About Stan & Sarah Guinn

Stan and I both grew up in Albuquerque, and except for 6 years that we lived in California, we've lived in New Mexico. We live in our house part of the time, and downtown Albuquerque the rest of the time so we like it to be neat and clean. We keep many of our personal items in the house to be used while we're here and for the enjoyment of our guests. We keep up the maintenance on it, and have a beautiful array of live plants both inside and out in the yard. We are situated on an acre of land with a fence around the property, which gives it a very private feel. The Corrales area is located in a farming community, yet outside the village is everything from the big box stores; Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, to the Cottonwood Mall, the Outback, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, and Il Vicino restaurants - less than 4 miles away. There are also grocery stores like Sprouts Market and Albertson's close by. On the main street, Corrales Blvd., are local restaurants and specialty and antique shops. We have the best of both worlds at our doorstep.

We love the Corrales area because it feels very rural, yet outside of the village 10 minutes away are the largest mall, all the big box stores, restaurants, and antique stores at your doorstep.

What makes this house unique

We love to sit out on the deck in the evening and watch the lights come on. The view is spectacular and it never ceases to amaze us. We love to watch the birds and other animals as they visit and drink from the water in our pond.

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay. The house was fully up to our expectations and very nice.

I love the flora and fauna of the dry lands and staying in Corrales we got to see much that was of interest.

We especially enjoyed visits from your 'tame' roadrunner who seems to like roosting just over the deck. What a treat.

The Balloon Fiesta Came to Us!

We just returned from a glorious week in Albuquerque. This home was everything promised and so much more! Our focus of the trip was the annual Balloon Fiesta. Since the four of us had never attended, we didn't anticipate the traffic surrounding the fiesta grounds. Much to our delight, we didn't even need to fight the crowds. On two consecutive days, the "mass ascension" flew directly over our house while we enjoyed our morning coffee. Some balloons were so close, we could converse with the occupants from the deck! We loved sitting out in the warm evenings watching the balloons "glow" along with the fantastic fireworks shows after dark.

This property is clean, private, well maintained and in a very quiet neighborhood. Sarah was an excellent resource when we had questions. Unfortunately, we never met Stan!

Access to shopping was an easy jaunt. Freeway interchanges were not far, so our side trips to the Petroglyph, White Sands and Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monuments, as well as Santa Fe and Old Town Albuquerque were a breeze. There's also a very nice, paved walking path behind the home for even more scenic views of Sandia Peak and the Rio Grande valley.

We'll recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a laid-back vacation in the Southwest. The next time we plan a trip to New Mexico, we'll definitely want to stay here again.

Great family retreat!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Corrales house. We came on a family vacation with our 3 boys (5, 8, 11). They loved exploring the "desert" on the grounds, watching the hummingbirds out the back window, and finding roadrunners and jackalopes on the front porch every morning. We just used the home as our base for the long weekend, but it provided a perfect respite every evening. Sarah was very responsive and helpful with all of our questions. We ventured into Albuquerque and explored the science museums (Explora! and the Natural History Museum), the Indian Cultural Center, and briefly wandered around old town. We really enjoyed the restaurant "Range" for dinner (we ate there 2 nights and had leftovers for breakfast!). Our best meal, however, was at the Indian Cultural Center. We enjoyed the "Pueblo Feast". What a deal! $24 fed our family of 5. We also visited the Zia Pueblo for their cultural celebration on August 15th, and took a road trip to Santa Fe and Taos. Our boys favorite activity was Taking a Llama to Lunch in the mountains near Taos. Highly recommended. Thanks, Sarah and Stan for providing a wonderful home away from home for us.

Another recommendation of taking a llama to lunch was new to us, and Corrales has some llama farms, one being on the main street, Corrales Blvd. They can be seen as you drive by. We love to hear about off-the- beaten-path places to see here that we didn't know about. We hope you'll visit again.

A Slice of Heaven

This was my first time renting a home. The owner of the property called me promptly and was very friendly. She answered my questions and notified me of the process I needed to go through in order to rent her property. It was very easy and there were no problems. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised of how wonderful this home was. The pictures reflected accurately as to how the property looked like in person. I received an email with instructions, local supermarkets and stores as well. The tip on driving slow around the neighborhood was especially helpful since people in California are known to speed. I enjoyed the balcony and the wonderful views from the master bedroom. The room was at a very comfortable temperature due to the air conditioning. There were a total of 3 bedrooms and only used 2. There was plenty of room for 3 people. We enjoyed using the kitchen and with all the basic necessities that came with it. I plan on returning for the Balloon Fiesta some day and this place will definitely be my first choice. The attractions that we enjoyed were Old Town Albuquerque, Roswell, El Pinto Restaurant, Sprouts Market, Sam's Club for gas, Sandia Casino, Peppers Old Fashioned BBQ, and New Mexico State Capitol. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit Albuquerque. It is much nicer and quieter than a hotel! Thank you for offering your beautiful home and enjoyed our stay in Albuquerque.

Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway is the longest in the world and only 40 minutes away. Skiing is 45 minutes away at Sandia Peak Ski Resort from Thanksgiving to early March. Santa Fe is also 45 minutes away via the Rail Runner train for only $8 round trip. Secluded, private and very quiet, yet the stores, restaurants, and recreational activities (malls, movie theaters, live theaters, night life, casinos, golf, skiing, bowling, swimming, hiking ice skating, horseback riding, etc.) cultural activities (pueblos, museums, art galleries, wineries, antique stores, etc.), are all within a few minutes drive You’ll enjoy live theater and music at the beautiful Popejoy Hall. 30 Minutes to Old Town, downtown, the Alb. Convention Center, the zoo, museums, the famous National Hispanic Cultural Center, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and the NM State Fair with rodeo, horse racing and the midway is her for 2 weeks in September. The Outdoor Gathering of Nations Pow Wow is held in Albuquerque in April.
