Our family has been vacationing at The Sea Ranch for the past 14 consecutive years, staying in 13 different homes. This home is the nicest home we've ever stayed in and here's why: (1) Architectural placement of the home in the mountain side allows for a costal view on all three levels; (2) The home's floor plan creates privacy and full-bathroom access on all three levels;(3) High quality appliances and materials in kitchen: gas stove, dual ovens, large refrig.,granite counter tops;(4) High quality Anderson windows with pull down blinds;(5)Access to two car garage; (6) Beautiful wood floor on second level, high end carpet on 1st & 3rd level; (7) Comfortable patio furniture on deck; (8) Lighting, both inside and outside of the home articulate the home's special features; and (9) Great HOT tub with view of the ocean. If you don't like this home; You'll never capture the Sea Ranch experience. THANK YOU to the owners for sharing your home, it is truly spectacular.
The boys at nearby walk on beach, where the stream meets the sea. We were married at The Sea Ranch, and have been making several trips per year every year since 1995. After years of waiting, we were lucky enough to find a hillside lot with our favorite views, and were able to build our own home in 2008.
The Sea Ranch is a beautiful stretch of land, about 10 miles long and 1 mile wide, along the rugged Sonoma coast line. It is hard to decribe, a mixture of sea, land, sky, waves, beaches, rocks, cliffs, bluffs, coves, forests, trees, ridgelines, and an ever changing sky filled with clouds and stars. You have to be here in person to truly appreciate the beauty. If you have been here before, then you already know what we mean.
Most visitors seem to prefer the "meadow" homes, located west of highway 1, which are closer to the ocean and beaches. We found we prefer the hillside setting, which offers wide sweeping views of the land, sea, and sky. It is more private, and we are still able to make the short and quick drives down to the beaches and trails when we want. If we can pry the boys away from their video games, we sometimes even hike down the hill to blackpoint beach. We ususally have to bribe them with the promise of hot chocolate or a snack at the Sea Ranch Lodge.
