Welcome to "Seven Blue Mile" house, named for it's dramatic south coast whitewater views. It's seven miles from the house to the farthest visible sea-cliff on the horizon!
The house sits high atop a hill above the Sea Ranch Lodge, and offers views of the cliffs, bluffs, waves and trees at the south end of The Sea Ranch, past Stewart's Point, and beyond. Enjoy a 180 degree view of the sea and sky and see the earth curve!
Recently constructed in 2008. The home was not placed on the rental market until the fall of 2010. it's still like new!

The entertainment center has HD TV / DVD / CD player / i-pod dock with built in surround sound. There are outdoor speakers for the deck and hot tub. The boys at nearby walk on beach, where the stream meets the sea. We were married at The Sea Ranch, and have been making several trips per year every year since 1995. After years of waiting, we were lucky enough to find a hillside lot with our favorite views, and were able to build our own home in 2008.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
The Sea Ranch is a beautiful stretch of land, about 10 miles long and 1 mile wide, along the rugged Sonoma coast line. It is hard to decribe, a mixture of sea, land, sky, waves, beaches, rocks, cliffs, bluffs, coves, forests, trees, ridgelines, and an ever changing sky filled with clouds and stars. You have to be here in person to truly appreciate the beauty. If you have been here before, then you already know what we mean.
Most visitors seem to prefer the "meadow" homes, located west of highway 1, which are closer to the ocean and beaches. We found we prefer the hillside setting, which offers wide sweeping views of the land, sea, and sky. It is more private, and we are still able to make the short and quick drives down to the beaches and trails when we want. If we can pry the boys away from their video games, we sometimes even hike down the hill to blackpoint beach. We ususally have to bribe them with the promise of hot chocolate or a snack at the Sea Ranch Lodge.
direct quotes from our guest book:
the weather was overcast but mystical. we went kayaking, to the point arena lighthouse, hiking, biking and swimming.
your house is magiccal!! thank you!!
We have been coming to Sea Ranch for at least 30 years and have stayed in many of the different homes. We usually stay as close to the ocean as we can get, for a change we decided to try a house on the other side of highway 1. We loved this house!! The view was incredible, the house is really nice. Open and airy. Loved the hot tub, and that you can open the gate for a great view of the ocean. We will definitely be staying there again. My husband and I celebrated our 38th anniversary.
We stayed here for several nights in April. The house has fantastic coastal views and within walking distance to nearby trails. Beaches and a spectacular coastal ridge trail are a short drive down the hill and across Highway 1. The house is full of natural light and very well appointed, with quality furnishings and electronics. One can relax on the front porch, dining area, living room or bedrooms, all with great views. Or sit in the hot tub and take in the stars on a clear night. It's just a very comfortable and welcoming place, an ideal vacation retreat.
We stayed four nights in February 2015 and had a lovely time. The house is spacious and has great views from each room. The kitchen is decently equipped, but could use a few more basics, like a tea kettle. We enjoyed the Sea Ranch facilities (tennis courts) and the walking paths along the ocean. We left the house in perfect condition, and the house was inspected within 48 hours after we left, but we had to wait almost three weeks to get the security deposit back on our credit card, due to the "process" that the rental office follows. This delay took a little bit of joy away from an otherwise wonderful time.
Our family has been vacationing at The Sea Ranch for the past 14 consecutive years, staying in 13 different homes. This home is the nicest home we've ever stayed in and here's why: (1) Architectural placement of the home in the mountain side allows for a costal view on all three levels; (2) The home's floor plan creates privacy and full-bathroom access on all three levels;(3) High quality appliances and materials in kitchen: gas stove, dual ovens, large refrig.,granite counter tops;(4) High quality Anderson windows with pull down blinds;(5)Access to two car garage; (6) Beautiful wood floor on second level, high end carpet on 1st & 3rd level; (7) Comfortable patio furniture on deck; (8) Lighting, both inside and outside of the home articulate the home's special features; and (9) Great HOT tub with view of the ocean. If you don't like this home; You'll never capture the Sea Ranch experience. THANK YOU to the owners for sharing your home, it is truly spectacular.
For the second year in a row, my daughter and I celebrated her birthday and Mother's Day at 7 Blue Mile. A deer was "waiting" for us in the yard. (Last year there was a pregnant doe in the yard in the morning and a mother and newly born fawn in the afternoon!). The house is like something out of a magazine - amazing views of the water from an interior which is aesthetically delightful and immaculate. I love every room - a living room with a very comfortable couch and chair and a fireplace. A dining room which seats 10. A window seat when one enters. And all of those rooms face the ocean. It has a wonderfully large and very functional kitchen which, because the rooms are open, also has a view of the ocean. Then there's the deck which is perfect for reading and taking in the view and the hot tub and its view of the ocean and of the stars. Plus three lovely bedrooms. Couldn't be a better place to stay! We sat on the deck and read, took walks, enjoyed the hot tub, danced and talked and talked and talked. We'll be back for a third visit in 2015!
My husband and I had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful Sea Ranch home. The home is very clean, well kept, and has wonderful views. The hot tub was very relaxing and the kitchen was very modern and had just what we needed. We will be returning because we were very happy with our experience at this home!
