Overview

Gardiner Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathrooms, Convertible bed(s), Sleeps 8

Yellowstone Cabin Rental On Private Acreage Five Miles From The Park's North Gate And Best Wildlife Watching And Cutthroat Trout Fishing!

Charming cabin built in 2009 with two bedrooms that sleeps 5-8 located just five minutes from Yellowstone Park's North Entrance on 26 acres of private property. Perfect for travelers who want easy access to the famous Northern Range and Lamar Valley with its bison, elk, deer, wolves, bears, AND fishing for world-famous Yellowstone cutthroat trout!

This beautiful cabin is unlike all other vacation rental properties in the area. Lying in an extremely private location just above Highway 89 north of Gardiner, Montana, and the Roosevelt Arch, the cabin is easily accessed by a well-maintained, short, 300 yard-long Private Drive.

This setting provides you with total solitude and isolation from any hustle and bustle of the busy roadways leading to/from the park. However, at the same time, when needed, you are just minutes away from restaurants, the market, and shops in Gardiner or a bit further away in Livingston and Bozeman.

Built on a log frame, this cabin has all modern amenities yet has a great amount of rustic appeal including beautiful hardwood floors. It has enormous windows giving you unmatched views of Yellowstone's Electric Peak, Devil's Slide, Dome Mountain, and many other spectacular geological features. Wildlife abound here and deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, bighorn sheep, or bison are seen on the meadows and mountain slopes near the cabin. Often during the spring and fall, they are standing right in the cabin's yard. No-where else in the northern Rockies will you find wildlife this abundant and close in a natural setting.

Horses graze nearby, and the Yellowstone River, home to world-class trout fishing, leaves the park and passes just a few hundred yards below you.

There are many access sites to the Yellowstone River very near to the cabin, one within easy walking distance (that is a very great fishing spot...just ask our boys!).

Being near Gardiner, our cabin is at the home of the Yellowstone Association, a long-standing educational institute offering numerous courses in the park. The Electric Peak Cabin is a perfect place to stay when visiting and attending these courses.

About Todd

We are a family of six including four young boys who love the Greater Yellowstone Area.

Todd has a Ph.D. in Zoology and works professionally to preserve the native animals here, especially Yellowstone cutthroat trout and the ecosystem they support!

Todd purchased this cabin in 2009

Why Todd chose Gardiner

We have built this cabin here because Yellowstone Park is the greatest place on the face of the planet. We want to provide an opportunity for visitors to relax and share in the Yellowstone experience.

The Yellowstone River and great fishing are within walking distance of the cabin door. Also the Yellowstone Association and all its educational opportunities are found right near our place at Gardiner.

This is our home and we love it. Come on out here and stay for awhile!

Guestbook comments from the manager

We visited Yellowstone for one week on our 6-month journey from the Netherlands. We had a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately many of the roads in Yellowstone were still closed, however we visited Mammoth Hot Springs, Lamar Valley, and Tower Falls. We went swimming in the Boiling River (recommended!)and we saw lots and lots of wildlife: hundreds of bison and elk, pronghorn, deer, coyotes, bighorn sheep. We missed out on the bears. We also enjoyed the wildlife around the cabin.

Thanks alot for everything, and to you Justin, Aaron, Ryan, and Tyler for letting us use your bikes!!

Thursday we are leaving for West Glacier (thanks Tod for the route info). A few months in Canada before going back home in July.

Perfect first trip to Yellowstone!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I chose Electric Peak cabin due to it's location and the photos/reviews online. We were not disappointed! The cabin was exactly as pictured and we found it to be spotless and cozy. The views from any of the windows was perfect.
The cabin is in the perfect location, a quick 10 minute drive from the North entrance of YNP. This allows you to visit the park, visit the surrounding area and only have a short drive back to your home base. For us this was perfect as we were not surrounded by the crowds of tourists that stay in lodging throughout the park.
We had a great time visiting Gardiner as well...HellsaRoaring Outfitters was also a great ranch to visit for some horseback riding (and the drive up to the Ranch is pretty awesome on it's own!)
It was also great that Todd came to make sure all was going well and make sure we didn't need anything. Very hospitable and appreciated!
We look forward to future visits to the area and will definitely hope to stay at EP cabin again!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5
Our family had such a wonderful time at Electric Peak Cabin. It is the perfect location to the north gate of Yellowstone and was easy to visit the park everyday. Just up the road from the cute little town of Gardiner where you can book your rafting, horseback or zipline trips. The cabin was spotless and very roomy for a family of four with teenagers. We would of loved to stay longer if time permitted. Loved having our morning coffee looking at the mountains. Can't wait to go back. We would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful cabin with awesome view.

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Electric Peak Cabin for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The cabin is very comfortable in a beautiful quiet location, and it's well appointed throughout. In the kitchen, It provides enough supply of great cooking utensil, so that we could relax and cook our own meals rather than going out to restaurant for every meal. We did however enjoy eating at Lighthouse Restaurant in Corwin Springs. One thing we didn't know about the restaurant was that they don't serve any alcohol drinks, but they do allow you to bring your own bottle of wine or beer with no charge. Todd was very helpful to give us an advice on fishing at Yellowstone River and we really had a great time trying to fish there on our last day at the cabin. We'd really like to come back again someday soon and we will stay longer on our next visit for sure.

Wonderful Yellowstone Vacation

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Electric Peak cabin. The views from all sides of the cabin are outstanding. It is very quiet and the stars are very bright since you are located about ten minutes outside of Gardiner. Sitting on the front porch was a treat. We found the cabin to be very well insulated and has a very efficient heating and air-conditioning system. We had an opportunity to test both as we had highs in the low eighties and lows in the teens.
The cabin is beautifully decorated and is fully equipped for dining in with an efficient kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. There is an excellent grocery store in Gardiner. If you eat out try the Lighthouse- great food and lots of local color. If you are a horse lover there are horses in a nearby pasture that enjoy attention.
When we return to Yellowstone the Electric Peak cabin will be at the top of our list of places to stay. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

Highly Recommend! Perfect Cabin for a Yellowstone Vacation

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed here in July and are so glad we did! It is just as described and pictured. The cabin was the perfect distance from Yellowstone's Roosevelt Gate entrance - less than 10 minutes away. It is perfectly situated with amazing views of Electric Peak and the Devil's Slide out of the large windows. We found the cabin to be very tidy, well equipped, having everything you need, and very nicely decorated. The beds were also very comfortable. Todd was very nice, friendly and helpful.

Every morning we packed our lunch for our day trips into Yellowstone. After a long day of touring the park, it was so nice to come back to this quiet and sweet little cabin and sit out on the front porch and watch the sunset giving us an amazing color display. One day, we came back from Yellowstone to find a wonderful surprise: 4 Bighorn sheep lounging right near the cabin! It was also nice to watch Todd's horses grazing in the pasture right next to the cabin. While there we were able to fish in the Yellowstone River, which is a short distance below the cabin, and catch our dinner for that evening. We also went whitewater rafting, which I highly recommend as well (we used the Flying Pig)! It really was the perfect place to stay for a Yellowstone vacation! So glad we chose Electric Peak Cabin and hope to come back to this cabin, again, someday soon!
