4th of July weekend at the Wyndham resort
Although it took my family 20 hours to arrive, I must say that staying at National Harbor during the 4th of July weekend was well worth the trip. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and scenery. There were plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance of the Wyndham Resort, and the proximity to Washington D.C. was good. Unfortunately there was a bit of a mix up with our reservation upon check-in. We were told that we’d have to be down-graded from a 2-bedroom deluxe, to a 1-bedroom deluxe. The Wyndham staff realized that there was no way for a family of 7 to be comfortable in a smaller unit. It took a moment, but in the end, they successfully placed us into the 2-bedroom deluxe. Our unit was very clean; it had two bedrooms, a kitchenette, dining area & living area. Although it looked exactly as shown in the photos, I felt that the living areas were a little tight for 7 people. I would recommend that you consider booking a three bedroom unit if you have a group of this size. The Wyndham is a very large resort. It is located in a prime location at National Harbor, and there is plenty of covered parking for guests. It has the basic amenities that one would expect for a resort of this size…indoor/outdoor pools, game & theatre rooms, exercise facility, free laundry, free Wi-Fi internet, kid’s area & much more.
