House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

Open Water Views!

Escape the stress and cares of your daily life. A Gift from the Sea is a charming, ground level 2/2 designed to be calming and comfortable. Twelve hundred square feet of relaxation with central heat and air. It’s located on a boater-friendly, deep-water canal in Pine Channel Estates three lots from open water. Sleeps six.

Location is everything. On Big Pine Key you’re minutes from top-ten beaches and dive spots.

We raised our children on BPK and the opportunity to play outside is limitless. Chasing lizards, snorkeling the canal, cooking on the grill as a family and having a fresh picked coconut are the stuff memories are made.

Less than a minute from a soothing swim in the canal. Minutes from the open water, island restaurants, groceries, and reeling in the catch of the day. Only twenty-nine miles from the hustle and bustle of Key West.

The accommodations are soothing and comfortable. Three televisions, cable, high-speed Internet, Wi-Fi and lots of places to relax to help you unwind. The Master bedroom has a king-size bed and guest bedroom has a queen size. There’s a hide-a-bed in the living room. A Gift from the Sea has all the amenities you should expect.

Pine Channel excites your senses. Throughout your day you will hear the calls of ospreys and see frigate birds soaring. At dawn and dusk you’ll see shy Key deer exploring the neighborhood.

On Big Pine you’ll have a great awareness of natural wonders. You’ll see the phases of the moon like you’ve never seen, beautiful views of the crystal-clear water in every different light. A perfect little rain storm coming across the water, the light show that is the Milky Way and every evening a sunset that’s new and different.

Mornings on the screened porch with coffee conleche and the local newspaper (AKA the mullet wrapper) are perfection.

During your day you have a premier neighborhood for boating, fishing, diving, and exploring the backcountry. And at the end of your day you have a comfortable soothing place to rest your eyes, enjoy a frozen concoction, and dream about tomorrow. All you need to bring is a book mark, bathing suit and fishing pole.

Our guests say it best:

'Perfect location, felt right at home.'

'Spacious, clean and well maintained.'

'Home is well equipped and great for boating.'

'Planning our vacation with Lynne and Alan was easy.'

'Days as busy as you want them to be.'

'Relaxing atmosphere. Just staying home is fun.'

'Loved the carport and ground level home.'

'Like a perfect little gem.'

Welcome to A Gift from the Sea!

About Lynne and Alan

Lynne and I met in high school in Panama City Florida. We have been married 40 years and they said it would never last. We have two grown children and two grand children. We live in Ocala, Florida but our hearts remain in the Keys. Alan is a retired small-animal veterinarian and writes Gator Crossing Mysteries (Woo Burgers in Paradise and Buskers on the Half Shell under the pen name - Theophilous Thorne-Bush). Lynne has worked in the hospitality industry and enjoys helping people plan and enjoy their Florida vacations. We share a love for travel but few places compare to the Florida Keys.

Lynne and Alan purchased this house in 2008
Why Lynne and Alan chose Little Torch Key

Lynne and I lived in the Florida Keys for almost 25 years. We raised our two children in Pine Channel Estates on Big Pine Key. We spent a lot of time researching neighborhoods in the Keys. It's a premier boating neighborhood with a nice mix of people. It is convenient to US Highway One. It's near the open water and the canals are deep and clean.

What makes this house unique

The environment in the Keys is bright with lots of sunshine. We lived in the Keys long enough to know that you want to return home to a soothing comforting spot with just the right colors and feel. From the homemade curtains to laying on the seawall and counting shooting stars - A Gift from the Sea is all that and more.

Sad to Leave

Submitted: November 18, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
A thank you to Lynne and Alan for a magnificent and eventful week. Nice job on the home – all that we needed, except more time. I’m sad to leave.

Sitting and eating at the little table on the porch was a definite favorite.

So Cozy - and Filled with Everything We Might Need

Submitted: November 18, 2011 Stayed: October 2011
Favorite Moments - Watching Bernie catch a sailfish. Meeting and feeding a visiting egret we named “Artie.” He visited everyday.

We had a wonderful vacation at A Gift from the Sea was everything and more. So cozy and filled with everything we might need. Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful sunsets.

Spending quiet loving time together was the best part of our vacaton. Our everyday life can be so stressed. This is exactly what we needed!

Bombing Into Crystal Clear Water

Submitted: November 18, 2011 Stayed: August 2011
I really enjoyed our stay at A Gift from the Sea on Big Pine Key. The home is perfect with everything you could possibly want. It is also a great location. The sofa is a great place to chill and watch football (the correct way of saying soccer!!) Thank you for providing a great place for us to stay.

Had a fantastic time here in Big Pine Key. A great place to relax and catch some rays! Lovely and hot everyday and some spectacular lightening shows at night. The ribs at Big Pine Rastaurant were incredible. We also had some lovely meals in the new grill like burgers and sausages. No fish though.

My favorite was bombing into the crystal clear canal! Great place to unwind and lots of books in this great little house. Wish I could transport it to the UK along with the weather.

Twenty Years of Lobstering

Submitted: November 18, 2011 Stayed: May 2011
It (A Gift from the Sea) is a delightful place to stay. One of the nicest accomodations in over 20 years of coming to the Florida Keys for lobster season.
