South Venice:
When considering your vacation, why not come to Florida's Gulf Coast where the dolphins play, the manatee swim, the temperatures average 75 degrees, and the crystal clear water of the Gulf of Mexico begs for your attention. Use South Venice as your base for exploring this beautiful area.
South Venice is 60 minutes from Tampa Bay and 30 minutes drive south from Sarasota, and 2 hrs to the Disney Parks in Orlando. The Myakka River State Park is 15 minutes away where you can explore on foot, kayak or boat.
Golf:
Florida is a golfer's dream and draws more golfers than any other state. The South Venice area alone offers six golf courses with another half dozen within a half hour's drive. Golfers have ample courses where they can experience typical Florida play. Naturally, the most common elements on Florida courses are water and sand. Challenging elements include the island green and prevailing coastal winds. But take heart, deep rough is uncommon!
Sharks Teeth :
For years, collecting prehistoric shark's teeth has been a favourite pastime of visitors and residents alike. Sharks of all species continually shed their teeth and grow anew. After a nice long life, dead sharks sink to the ocean floor where they're covered by layers of sand and silt. Over time their bodies decompose, while changing tides and storm activity sweep the teeth on shore. Caspersen Beach, the longest beach in the area is located south of Venice Airport on Harbour Drive. It has been left in its natural state, uncultivated, wind swept, and secluded. This is an exceptionally good area to look for and find pre-historic sharks' teeth as well as enjoyable shelling.

13 November 2005 - A thoroughly enjoyable holiday – the villa has seemed like home. Wireless internet worked really well – the range of sea food exceeded what is available in the UK at a fraction of the price. The great kitchen & BBQ make eating & cooking here very easy.
