Located directly on the IJsselmeer and very close to the ancient harbour towns of Medemblik, Enkhuizen and Hoorn. 'De Vlietlanden' is the ideal starting point for excursions. The famous 'Zuiderzee Museum' is also in Enkhuizen and a historic steam train runs between Hoorn and Medemblik. Even the ancient Dutch city Alkmaar with its world famous cheese market is very close by, as is the naval harbour of Den Helder and the international city of Amsterdam.
Boat rental / Restaurant De Vlietlanden: Boat rental De Wimpel rents out motor boats for which you do not need a license. Boats for rent from € 46.00 per day including fuel and insurance. Restaurant De Vlietlanden is beautifully situated directly by the water. For a leisurely aperitif or an appetizing dinner we recommend our restaurant. Also you can enjoy a wonderful view from here.
Grand Cafe De Vlietlanden: Grand Cafe De Vlietlanden is a very cosy cafe / restaurant where you can enjoy a drink, pick up snacks or dine well. Also there is an internet cafe and snooker. The Grand Café is located next to two illuminated tennis courts in the beginning of the bungalow park De Vlietlanden.

Medemblik is one of the oldest town by the IJsselmeer coast in North Holland. There you will find several marinas, small streets and shops, cosy restaurants, several museums and the old castle Radboud. The town centre is about 2 km away from the park and within easy reach on foot or by bicycle. Bungalow Park De Vlietlanden actually lies in the municipality Wervershoof, but on the border of Medemblik. The park is 55 km from Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, and the historic towns of Hoorn and Enkhuizen are both 20 km away. In Enkhuizen you will find a fairy tale wonderland for children and museum park Zuiderzee Museum, where authentic buildings from the former Zuiderzee area like a church, a school, a smokehouse, and residential buildings from the surrounding fishing villages are located. The North Sea is a half an hour drive with villages like Schagen, Bergen, Schoorl, etc. Alkmaar takes 40 minutes to drive with every Friday cheese market 10-12 during summer.
Golf: Near the bungalow park De Vlietlanden is the golf course De Vlietlanden. This 18-hole golf course is a public golf course and is open year round.
