House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

Our home was built in 1964 among the banyan trees. It is an old style plantation home restored to its original beauty, with 12' rock and wood wall fence. It is extremely private inside the walls and lots of bird viewing (we feed the wild parrots and birds). We provide fresh fruit from our farm when you arrive. The bikes can be used to tour the Kona village. You are downtown, but it doesn't feel like downtown. The house screen style (for our great Kona winds) with a/c in all bedrooms. The home is colorful and Hawaiian theme throughout. The mongoose are fun to watch and the salt water pool area has its own music and bamboo luu. You are surrounded by great restaurants and walk to the lua and great shopping. You can walk to beach and swim or surf.

Great Place for Multi-generational Families

Great place for multi-generational family vacation. Comfortable, roomy, large open LR and Kitchen, Lanai...pool is shaded. Very private. Convenient to town and the pier. Grocery and restaurants close. Owner was extremely helpful. The 'keiki' beach to the right of the pier and in front of the King Kam Hotel was perfect for the kids, as we experienced high surf and surges during our stay. The photos are accurate. I have already recommended this property to friends.

We arrived at 7:30 pm in Kona on 8/6/2012. Weather was clear at the airport - downpour at the "Tree House" Address was tricky locate (GPS put us in the block) - The owner flagged us down -(thank you!) House was clean and well appointed. It more than met our needs. Only two little surprises - clothes washer didn't like us - the owner is replacing this week. The a/c window units are on a timer - 8 pm to 5 am and noon to 3 pm. Not an issue unless you crave air conditioning. House was airy and well shaded. The a/c was not a problem for us. Hope to stay there again. the tree house is convenient to everything. walk to most, drive if you want to. Enjoyed the pool and the birds!
