Cabin, 6 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 16-22)

The Bear Lake View Lodge is a beautifully designed and well-built cabin. It is a spacious 4,200 square foot home with great open areas for gathering, and very comfortably sleeps 16-20. It is close to lake access and has a beautiful view of the lake.

The vaulted-height living room features a wood-burning, stone fireplace and a wall of lake view windows, with doors leading onto the large deck. The spacious, fully-equipped kitchen and dining area seats 8-9, plus portable seating for up to 20. Massive hand-peeled structural logs compliment the granite countertops, Black Walnut hardwood floors, and natural wood doors and cabinets. A laundry room with washer and dryer is just off the kitchen.

The main floor has 1 bedroom with a queen sleigh bed, a separate full bath, and a spacious Master Bedroom with a locally made log queen bed, private bath with glass shower, separate jetted tub, and French doors leading to the deck where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the lake and sunrise.

The second story has 2 bedrooms- one bedroom with natural wood sleigh beds- one queen and one twin, the other bedroom with one queen bed. There is one bath, with a jetted tub/shower. At the end of the log bridge, a large 22 foot loft is bordered by handcrafted, hand-peeled log balusters which accent the view through windows to the north, east and west, and eavesdrops over the kitchen and living area. Tongue-and-groove spruce vaulted ceiling adds a warm intimacy yet expansive spaciousness. With a 50' flatscreen tv receiving local channels, DVD's, Wii game system and plenty of comfy seating, it is a great place play or read.

The walk-out basement has 9 foot ceilings for a very open and light feel. There is a ping pong table and foosball table in the family room, and 2 bedrooms with bunkbeds in each: three twin-over-full and two twin-over-twin, and a shared full bath, mudroom and 2 car garage.

The backyard has plenty of grass for outdoor play.

Pillow-top mattresses, continuous hot water, year-round paved access with plenty of off-street parking, and close to all major roads.

Our growing family of 11 loves to play in the sun and water on the beach. We love to ski in the winter and play games at the cabin with cousins and friends.

Bear Lake is a beautiful place for families to gather and relax and play and make lasting memories. We love summer days on the beach and winter evenings by the fire after skiing. We chose this particular cabin because of the amazing views of the lake through the large windows, the beautiful interior and hand-peeled logs, the convenient location and easy year-round access on paved roads.

Beautiful location -- great owners!

We stayed here over Christmas with family from all over the country. There were 8 adults and 11 children. We loved how much space there was allowing everyone to be somewhere doing something. I personally was very comfortable in the bed, the master bath was huge, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There is tons of storage for things if you need it. The view of the lake was perfect, the polar bear plunge on Christmas Eve morning was refreshing, and the fireplace was nice and warm. The owner was very accomodating and even brought in a Christmas tree for us! The neighborhood roads are paved, and were kept clear when it snowed. The driveway itself was a little hairy right after fresh snow, but everyone was able to make it up (no 4x4).

The lodge is just beautiful, worth every penny of the rental costs. The lodge has a very large and open feel and has lots of space to congregate. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and I liked that the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need! The Wii, movies, Foosball and ping pong table were also great to keep the kiddos entertained. The location is great and the view was beautiful, it was great to wake up and sit on the porch and look at the scenery. My only complaint is that the beds (everyone agreed on this one) are not comfortable! They were pretty mushy and soft. I'm also being picky about this, but the drawers in the master bathroom could've been cleaner, but the rest of the house was very clean and maintained well. I would definitely recommend this lodge to anyone and would be happy to stay again!

Owner's Response: We recognize that people prefer different firmness in their mattresses. The mattresses we have at our cabin are higher end mattresses and were purchased brand new in 2011. The main mattresses are Sealy Posturepedic pillow top mattresses.

Fabulous Family Reunion

Our family of 21 spent a fun filled four days on this property and couldn't have asked for nicer accommodations, a better location, or better weather out on the lake. We were all extremely comfortable and had plenty of space to sleep, cook and socialize. From the youngest of the seven grand-kids to the oldest, we had no complaints and found the owners to be helpful and cooperative in meeting our needs. The lodge was clean and well taken care of. The neighborhood was quiet and within minutes to anything we needed in Garden City. The deck provided and amazing view of the lake and after a day on the lake, our evenings were spent watching the sunset and enjoying the cooler temperatures. The children were able to play outside on the lawn and enjoyed playing ping pong and the Wii when it got dark. We will definitely be returning to this lodge for future reunions.

cousins retreat

We had a great time at the Bear Lake house. We had 20 people from 14 months to 70 years old. The home was roomy and well equipped, just the home we would like to own. The yard was great for playing games and the lake was a lot of fun. We rented a boat and Seadoo, A great time was had by all.

Wonderful family gathering place!

The home is absolutely beautiful...hand hewn logs combined with comfortable furniture, and stunning views of the lake. When the family arrived they all exclaimed!

The rental agent was extremely helpful and responsive. I would seek her out again. Absolutely flawless customer service.

The back yard was perfect for the croquet and badminton we brought with us.

I highly recommend this property. I did not give it five stars only because of the following:
I found it odd that the bedrooms have no end tables, nor reading lamps, nor places to put suitcases. Basically, the bedroom furnishings aren't quite finished.

There is no wifi with the house. That was okay because we also rented the house next door and were able to use that wifi. Normally, no wifi would be a deal breaker for our family.

There is a TV set for games and DVD's, but no TV. Not a problem because we didn't want to watch TV because we were so busy having fun!

I would like to close with a reminder that this is a rave review for this property. It was beautiful, comfortable, and most enjoyable.
