We've lived here all our lives and one day plan to move into this home ourselves.
Bay View Rental, LLC., Mary Babcock purchased this house in 2010
The house came on the market at the right time and we love the location.
The house sits just off of M-25 so you are close to the highway but avoid the noise. Most of the homes on this drive are not rentals so the neighbors are very welcoming and friendly, its a quiet peaceful neighborhood.
Beautiful home, great location with everything you need for the perfect getaway! We had 7 girls and there was plenty of room and we all had a blast. Sat on the beach, watched wild life and the one day it rained we sat in the gazebo and watched the storm roll in over the lake. Already booked a date for next year and cannot wait to go back. Matt and Mary were very accomodating. Love this place!
This house was great! Plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 children. The deck/gazebo was awesome- I mean awesome!!!! It rained a couple times while we were there but we were still able to stay outside & play games or just hang out in the gazebo. The kitchen pretty much has everything you will need. The layout of the house is great too. We all loved the shallow, hard sandy bottom of the lake and it was quite warm! We had a great time! So much so that we decided (before we even left) to rent it again next Summer. Amazing sunsets!! Close to town. Great restaurants! My only suggestion would be some new pillows for the beds. Thank you for a great house and a fun family vacation! See you next year!
We just had our first family vacation with kids and grandchildren. It was wonderful. This is such a beautiful and peaceful place. The only issue we had was child proofing the deck. The space between the slates was too inviting for a 20 month old; once that was done everything was great. We truly did not have to bring anything other then our clothes and food. Matt and Mary thought of everything. Hopefully we will be able to return. Thanks for helping making our family vacation so great.
If I could give this property 4 1/2 stars, I would. We spent a week at the cottage with our college age/young adult children and had a wonderful time. We had good weather and spent much of our time on the deck which is huge and has a beautiful view of the lake. A short walk down the beach to the right takes you to a beautiful swim area. The surface under the water is very unique - it's rock, but not pebbles, it's a flat sheet of rock and is very nice to walk on. The bedrooms are fairly small and the living area is huge which is perfect. If you had rain, there is plenty of room to spread out and play games. We had never been to Port Austin before and found it to be a hidden gem. It is a lovely little town and we enjoyed going in for ice cream and walking on the pier. My only suggestions for small improvements would be to provide more towels - it was kind of a bare minimum for 8 people, and also we could have used a few larger cooking items, like a big pan, big bowl, etc.and also to de-clutter the laundry room - it was a little hard to get to the washer and dryer. Owners were very helpful and accommodating when we had a few questions. We had a great time and would book again.
We had 7 women for a girls weekend and were absolutely blown away by this vacation destination! The pics of the house do not do it justice! The owners thought of everything a person could possibly need! It was beautiful, clean, quiet and had plenty of room for all of us! I greatly look forward to planning a return trip hopefully sometime soon!
We stayed with 2 other couples and had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful with a gorgeous view. We saw deer, eagles, and many birds. Mary was wonderful to work with. We visited Sleeper State Park and we highly recommend the food at Stock Pot. We'd like to return again!
