Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Large one bedroom on the second floor of owner occupant's garage. Very private, with fantastic ocean views, surrounded by large trees and bird song. There is a spacious lawn with exotic plants that sweeps down to the edge of the 450 foot bluff. There is a viewing deck for an up close look at the coast line. It is .7 miles down the hill to the grocery store, Starbucks, and the best Hawaiian beaches. Waimea Bay, 3 Tables, Shark's Cove, Pipeline, and Sunset Beach. It is 12 min. to Haleiwa Town and 20 min to Turtle Bay Hotel where there is golf, many walks, and excellent restaurants. The airport is 45 min away and Honolulu about 1 hour. There is a security gate and off street parking. It is a very sunny space with excellent breezes and a large lanai. You can watch the moon set from your bed. It is a quiet neighborhood so we require quiet responsible adults. It is for the guests only...no visitors. Hi-speed wireless and everything you need is here.

The North Shore

We are within striking distance of Honolulu which is an hour away. However we find that our guest seem to get into the rhythm of the N. Shore and really don't want to get to far away. We have 17 miles of beach to explore. A woods with good walking and beautiful views.

An arboretum with a waterfall and swimming pool. An albatross nesting area, and so much more. In the summer we have one of the great snorkeling and scuba areas and in the winter we have world class surfing. So I think it is a good time to bring some good books and just hang out and relax and not drive all over the place. There are also about 5 yoga classes close by and many skilled massage therapists.

Most Peaceful and Relaxing Vacation Ever

We began our vacation in Waikiki for 3 nights, and although that was nice, our real vacation started went we arrived at Bart's place for a relaxing one week stay. Leave the crowds and noise behind and come to the North Shore. As mentioned in other reviews, Bart's place is in a fantastic location with incredible views of the shoreline below. His price is very good and includes the tax and cleaning. Don't count on much night life or fancy restaurants. But there is plenty to do in the area. We did something different everyday such as riding the bikes (provided) on the wonderful bike trail that begins at Shark's Cove just down the hill. We snorkeled in Shark's Cove several times and swam in the warm waters of Waimea Bay and some of the other beaches in the area. Since we had a rental car we spent one day just touring both sides of the North Shore including a Macadamia nut farm. At the end of each day, it was so nice to come back to Bart's place because it felt like.. well... Home Away. Some days we would eat out, and other days we stayed in and cooked our meals in the well equipped kitchen. And the blender was used every day to make mai tais or pina coladas to enjoy on the lower lanai that has a view that makes you never want to leave. I can't wait to come back to North Shore again and stay at Bart's place.

North Shore Amazing Views

A perfect apartment on a bluff overlooking the ocean. This place is large and airy and comfortable. The rooms and large lanai including the queen bedroom has great views over the ocean. We cooked dinner every evening in the large well equipped kitchen and ate on the lanai by candlelight. The location was close to Sunset Beach, Bonzai Pipeline and Waimea Bay. Also the cute town of Haleiwa. A big Food Mart was right down the hill with Starbucks and a deli. Very convenient.
Sharks Bay was a perfect place to snorkel on our first day, then the big waves rolled in and the beaches were closed for a while. Locals of course love the big surf and we were fortunate to watch some amazing surfing. Bart the owner was very helpful with suggestions but gave us total privacy.
Very nice spot.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Wow! The pictures don't do it justice. The view from every room is spectacular, ocean views, sunsets, whale watching from the living room....I can not say enough about this property. Bart was generous, and welcoming, and his property is amazing. I recommend this place highly and hope to be back soon!

North Shore Perfection

I just came back from a week at this house on the North Shore. It was fabulous. Close to everything on that side of the island, and about 30-40 minutes from Honolulu and Waikiki. Bart was a great host, too. There when you needed him and never intrusive. I wish I could stay forever!

All you expect....and more

We stayed here a few years ago and I was delighted to find it is still available for rent. Very spacous, great views, extemely clean, helpful landlord, and just a hop, skip and a jump to the most beautiful and exciting beaches in the world. This might be the best deal on North Shore.
