I currently live and work in Manhattan. I purchased our Union Square property about 9 years ago. My wife and I have had such a great experience with renting it short term, we recently purchased an apt in the Meatpacking District. We like to rock climb and play tennis. Our true passion is travelling the world seeking new adventures.
Wilson Kung purchased this condo in 2003
Can't beat the 16th floor of Zeckendorf Tower for access to everything in Manhattan and beyond. Walk to Trader Joes and Whole Foods - less than 100 yards, or lounge at Starbucks or Panera Bread, in the same complex as the apartment. A Food Emporium downstairs also has what you need.
Our 30 day stay in Wilson & Angella's apartment was perfect for us - walk a few blocks to visit our daughter and new grandson, or catch a subway to Times Square or Central Park or the Highline or Soho or......or....or
The apartment is very efficiently laid out, and the Apple TV has most news and entertainment channels available. I connected my iPad to the TV to get other cable-based TV access that I had on my iPad.
The in building fitness center was very enjoyable and never too crowded even though it serves a large # of potential users in this complex.
Wilson was very responsive in taking care of a couple of details once we got settled in, and was always available if we had a question or needed something explained.
The only minor negative that might affect some users is there can be traffic noise at night due to the high volume of siren-based vehicles around Union Square and the adjacent hospital. But nearly all of New York has traffic noise, so get used to it!!
My wife and I stayed in this VRBO for a long weekend, and it was a perfect base of operations! The location in Union Square was so convenient, I couldn't imagine a better locale. Not only was the subway line right in the base of the building, but also a grocery/deli store, a sports bar, and a Starbucks! We had lunch in beautiful Union Square park across the street. The apartment itself is very comfortable and clean; lacking none of the essentials for your getaway! We also enjoyed the rooftop deck on a sunny afternoon. Highly recommended!!
This space is perfect for a couple visiting the big apple! The location couldn't be better: Major subway lines right outside your door; Whole foods, Trader Joes and Food Emporium a stones throw away; and the beauty and community feel of Union Square itself right across the street! My husband and I stayed here together and we had ample space. There wasn't a lot of room to hang clothes so if you are going there for business be prepared to dry clean while you are there...though there is one RIGHT downstairs so you really can't complain. The owners were very kind to us. I had an EARLY arrival time and so they rearranged their schedule and that of their housekeeper to make it possible for me to get into the room earlier than the set time. Be warned that guests are not allowed! We didn't realize this till after we booked and they were kind enough to accommodate us, once again! All in all - a great place to call home in Manhattan. We will certainly look them up again next time we are in NY.
Everything was like described. Photos are exact matches of the place. Everything was cleaned and well maintained, the bed is excellent and very confortable and the building is very secure 24h a day. Excelent relation and comunication with owners place. Location is excellent, Union Square as a lot of subway lines available that can lead you to almost any place in town within a few minutes. By foot you can reach everything downtown easily. Lot of nice restaurants and grossery stores in the area with all kind of food types. Lot of shopping too, going uptown and downtown you find all kinds of stores. There was a only problem with the cable TV but it was transitory. I recomended a 100% this rental.
