Fairbanks Red House

This property is clean, cute, very functional and as advertised. It was perfect for our purpose. Very comfortable, working internet, fully stocked kitchen, gas grill. We cooked most meals in, which saved a ton of money and the nightly rate was much less expensive than two hotel rooms would have been.
Upon arrival, we had a problem with the bathroom sink draining. Amy came by promptly, dismantled the sink and fixed the problem. Very impressive hands on Customer Service!
Entertained several of my son's fellow soldiers one evening and discovered an indoor/outdoor sound system. That made the deck outside the place to be.
Bathroom is a little funky with the vanity and sink in different sapces, but we made it work.
The house is very accessible to town, but secluded on a hillside just north of Fairbanks.
There were no grill tools that we could find. Used crumpled up foil for scraping the grates and regular kitchen tongs and spatula.. So it all worked out.
Overall, another home run rental through VRBO. Highly recommend if you are traveling to Fairbanks and need two or three bedroooms. Window seat in living room converts to a bed I think, but we did not investigate that.
Big bonus cost-wise if you like to cook your own meals. There were a variety of items in the fridge and stocked in the pantry, which obviously will change from rental to rental. So, if you can hold off on shopping until you take inventory that can help save some more bucks. Fred Meyer and Walmart are a short drive away.
For our travel dates, it was considerably less expensive to fly in and out of Anchorage. The six hour drive took more like eight hours due to all the stops to take pictures, especially around Denali. It seemed like every turn in the road was another beautiful vista.
We ate lunch at the Silver Gulch Brewery in Fox after visiting the pipeline and the Lodge at Chena Hot Springs between soaks in the springs. Both were good experiences with food and service.
