About The Owner
Wayne is a Lutheran pastor and Kate is a realtor in Haddonfield, NJ. We have a daughter, Brigitte, who is nicknamed, Brie. Because of our Irish background and Wayne's profession, we gave our mountain getaway home the name Saint Brigid's Cross. It's meant to be our place to retreat from the demands of parish life, retail sales, and simply keeping up with the academic and extracurricular pace of high school. We all ski, but have little time on weekends to enjoy the slopes in winter. Summer is when we really get a chance to take time away for biking, hiking, and boating, and since Wayne likes to golf and the women like to shop it makes for a great compromise. Our dream has been to own a B&B one day. Opening up our home to guests is our way of tapping into our joy of making others feel welcome and having a good time. It's why Kate's family enjoys celebrating Thanksgiving here every year.

Why The Owner chose Big Boulder
In 2005 Kate and I created a 10-year goal of owning a mountain home near a lake. While celebrating our 15th Anniversary the next year at Camelback we decided to check out some listings near Lake Harmony. As soon as we saw the home we knew it was for us. Kate loves to play tennis and I enjoy golf. We both enjoyed skiing and Big Boulder was the perfect mountain for getting our daughter hooked on it too. The lake amenities are so great we can stay there all day in the summer were it not for the trails at Hickory Run S.P. or Bushkill Falls or the bike trail along the Lehigh River. It was the perfect location for a family that loves the outdoors as well as the simple pleasures of a home away from home.
What makes this townhome unique
The close proximity to the ski hill at Big Boulder in the winter (as well as Jack Frost and other nearby slopes) and the Lake Mountain Club and other hiking and biking trails in the summer captured all we wanted in a mountain home. It is very quite even thought it is in a townhome community which is very calming for us living in a hustle and bustle area of the Northeast. The ground floor family room is great for children to play in and while adults can enjoy conversation in the living room without a lot of distraction. The floor plan is ideal for groups with both night owls and early birds to enjoy their stay and their sleep.
