Kewadin House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Your vacation begins as you turn on Maple Lane off Bellaire Highway. This 1600 square foot house sits on 1.5 wooded acres on a private road that has only four houses. It is quiet and very private. The heated garage is located on the first floor of the house. The separate barn is perfect to store a boat, kayaks, snowmobiles or another car. You can join your friends on the large separate tree house deck to watch the sunset while sipping on cocktails, or the tree house can become a secret hideaway for your children. The house is ~1/4 mile from the nearest public access to Torch Lake at the west end of Bellaire Hwy, walking either on the road, or through the woods.
The most remarkable feature of this home is the granite fireplace in the great room. It soars to the ceiling and is flanked by tall windows on both sides. The whole room is bright in daytime and has surround lighting for the evening. There is a dining area next to the bay window in the great room.
The kitchen is large and contains everything you need to cook, with a kitchenette table that overlooks the deck and is a perfect place to watch the birds. It even has two ovens! The floor is brand new.
The master suite is on the upper floor. It has an antique brass queen size bed and windows that over look the front of the property. The bathroom has a shower and tub and plenty of storage. The front of the bedroom opens up onto the loft, which overlooks the great room.
The two guest bedrooms are mirror images of each other and are located on the great room level. They each have a separate bath and share a shower and tub. Each room has built in bookshelves and plenty of storage in the closets.
At the birdfeeders you will see all types of woodland birds, including pileated woodpeckers. Deer, fox, and wild turkey are frequent visitors to our land.

Vin still works as a consulting physicist and Deb is a retired teacher. We bought this house because we like boating, skiing, biking, and kayaking. We used and loved this house winter and summer for eight years. We like this location so well that we have bought a larger house nearby, so we're willing to rent this one.
This house is within easy boat trailing distance to Torch Lake, Clam Lake, Lake Bellaire, and Intermediate Lake, and we have boated and fished on all these lakes. We have loved cross country skiing in the woods out our door, and at Grass River Natural Area a short drive away. There is a site to watch loons about one mile away. The Brownwood Flea market is 7 miles away every Sunday morning. The Farmer's Market in Bellaire is every Friday morning (along with the incredible Senior's Garage Sale).
