All Season House in the Woods, Walk to Torch Lake, Ski Shanty

We ended up renting this place by pure chance. There were no available rooms in any hotels close to Traverse City for this particular weekend and my husband suggested we look for a private rental. We were very lucky to find this house! The place is beautiful, spacious, very clean and well equipped. I was also happy to find out the owners had no problem with my dog staying with us (white carpet throughout house). Thankfully she is housetrained and behaved herself. I don't think we could have found better value elsewhere, and we still had a spare bedroom. The owners are both very nice and since they live so close arranging payment was super easy. Would definitely rent this place again.

Family with teens and dogs enjoyed 4 night stay. Close drive to Schuss Mountain. Nice comfortable layout, nicely stocked rental house. Bedroom layout (master upstairs, 2 downstairs) and multiple bathrooms (downstairs had 1 off each bedroom with shared shower) was perfect for our large group. Property convenient to town/slopes yet on nice secluded wooded lot for playing with dogs. House was clean and personable (had a decorated tree up for holidays :-)). Large dining table in main living room (not pictured) Loved having use of heated garage. Owners were very friendly. Very good value for size and location. Wireless access was hit or miss depending on the device and location in the house.
Only negative was we couldn't figure out the thermastat - we were either too cold in living area or too hot in bedrooms - it was really windy and large windows could have been major factor?
We vacation in area every winter and would stay here again.
We skied at Schuss 2 days and ate there but had TERRIBLE service in restaurant. Didn't like Shorts Brewery - self service and limited menu. Enjoyed Alden Bar & Grill for great friendly service.

We've been up to the all seasons house in the woods twice. Once in the spring, and again in the fall. We are looking forward to a second fall trip. The house is very comfortable. Feels like home away from home. The area is beautiful. It is such a relaxing place to be. The photos show a true description of the house. It is very clean and well maintained. Vin & Deb are both great to rent from. There if you need them. Very sweet couple. It's a nice little walk to Torch Lake to watch the sunset. Short's Brewery is a great place to get a local brew and yummy sandwich. Pearl's is a bit of a drive; but worth it for cajun food. All in all, it's a delightful place to cozy into and relax.
