Yosemite Skyway, recently remodeled, is a convenient collection of three cabins in close proximity to each other located one minute off the Southern Yosemite Highway 41 on the National Sierra Vista Scenic Byway 632. All three cabins overlook a forested meadow area of wild flowers, manzanita, and native trees - bay, oak, pine, cottonwood, cedar. The meadow is frequented by deer and the birds love the blackberries. You’ll love it too.

What a wonderful environment to write that memoir, take the family for a relaxing break. Together the three cabins, the Cottonwood, the Manzanita, and the Blackberry can accommodate 18. Great for weddings (we can even find a minister and a photographer is on site), family reunions, or a business rendezvous. It’s quiet, relaxing, and enjoyable.

For those interested in the active life and want to get up and go, set up a base camp for year-round fun activities. There is hiking, biking, swimming, skiing (water, alpine, and nordic). On the Scenic Byway you are on the road to to the back country, backpacking, rock climbing, fishing and hunting, and snow-mobiling. Centrally located you’ll be within walking distance of fine dining at the Sierra Sky Ranch, or just minutes away from Yosemite’s Mariposa Grove of big Trees - 20 minutes, Wawona’s Historic Hotel and Golf Course - 30 minutes. Yosemite Sightseeing Tours -2 minutes. Oakhurst is 3 minutes away and has loads of restaurants, art galleries, museums, theaters, cinema, shops, antiques. You can even find a flea market or two. Ahwahnee is a 15 minute drive and has two golf courses with restaurants. The Sierra Nevada Mountains are wonderful...and they’re calling you!

Choose from 3 fully furnished cabins on 2.5 private acres. Features include gas fireplace, TV’s (DVD,VCR), redwood decks, barbecues, full baths with tubs, fully equipped kitchens, two bedrooms each with queens, and a sofa hide-a-bed in the living room. The cabins are nestled among the pines, oaks, walnuts, and each cabin displays fine art that can be purchased. With fenced yards each cabin is pet friendly.

About The Owner

I am a mountain person and have lived in Yosemite and the Southern Yosemite Area most of my life, including Yosemite Elementary, Wawona Elementary, Oakhurst Elementary Schools. I built my home in the area in the 70's and live 6 miles from Yosemite Skyway.

While in College, I taught skiing at Yosemite's Badger Pass under the direction of the renowned Nick Fiore.

I am a professional photographer and graphic designer owning White Cloud Photography. I teach photography and drawing at the local college, State Center Community College District - Oakhurst Center.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006
Why The Owner chose Oakhurst

I love the mountains and this area in particular. It has the best of everything (except maybe world class downhill skiing).

At Yosemite Skyway you can sit on the balcony/deck reading a book (or writing one) under a nutmeg tree while watching deer frolic in the forested meadow below. In the summer that meadow is filled with Mule's Ears, three foot tall native sunflowers. Life is great at the Skyway.

I became interested in real estate development through Dave Lindahl and purchased three run-down buildings in Sky Acres. I spent 10 months rebuilding them into the Yosemite Skyway Vacation Rentals. It's named that because it's located in Sky Acres and is on the way to Yosemite.

Spend a few days here. You'l love it.

What makes this cabin unique

On 2.5 acres there is room to roam, play with kids, play with the dog, walk the dog. The environment is terrific, in the forest, but with easy access to the major route to Yosemite and only twelve miles away. Being on the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway, the forest is right up the road. Or take a day and see the whole Byway by car, about 50 miles through the Sierra National Forest, with scenic spots along the way. Take a picnic.

Incredible mountain vistas are right up the road. Maybe you're a climber. The opportunity is there. Have fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was charming, clean, and well-supplied and in a beautiful forested area. It was also a short 11 or 12 mile drive from the south entrance to Yosemite. We especially loved being able to take our dogs along--the fenced backyard was a definite plus.
